Don’t Blend In If you were to look out the back window of my house, you’d see a cornfield. Every night at dinner, my family and I have watched this year’s crop grow since early spring. We've also watched a family of whitetail deer. In the spring, the mother deer and her spotted fawns stood out against the short, green corn stalks. But now, in the fall, the corn has turned brown, the fawns have lost their spots, and they blend in so well that they’re hard to spot from our table. Nature has a way of helping both predator and prey blend into their surroundings, making it an advantage for survival. In nature, blending in is a strategy. But for us, there’s a radical difference. I believe we were born to stand out. We were born to make an impact, to leave a mark on the lives of those around us. Years ago, I spoke with a marketing team member who shared that the average pharmacy in one particular market serves around 4,000 unique patients each month. While the specific market isn’t important, what matters is this: every one of those 4,000 patients relies on their pharmacy for outstanding care. That one word – OUTSTANDING - is where the invitation lies. We are invited, each day, to STAND OUT. My encouragement for you today: Don’t blend in.
