📣🌱 This is our window to secure a #NaturePositive economy for all by 2030. With less than 100 days until the UN Biodiversity #COP16, we’ve published a business statement outlining five high-level policy recommendations for governments to accelerate the implementation of the #BiodiversityPlan to drive corporate #Nature action. The statement, endorsed by 130 businesses and financial institutions with combined revenues of $1.1 trillion, calls on governments to adopt policies to: 🌎 Make sure business and financial actors protect nature and restore degraded ecosystems 🌎 Ensure sustainable resource use and management to reduce negative environmental impacts 🌎 Value and embed nature in decision-making and disclosure 🌎 Align all financial flows to transition to a nature-positive, net zero and equitable economy 🌎 Adopt or strengthen ambitious global agreements to address key nature loss challenges It’s time for governments to create an enabling regulatory framework and put nature at the heart of decision-making. 🔗 Find out more: bit.ly/BizCOP16

Endorsed by 130 businesses and financial institutions with combined revenues of $1.1 trillion, the Business for Nature's new statement, published today, sets out five high-level policy recommendations that can help accelerate the implementation of the #BiodiversityPlan to drive corporate #nature action. We also support this statement and its objectives, particularly to: ✅ Make sure business and finance protect nature and restore degraded ecosystems ✅ Ensure sustainable resource use and management to reduce negative environmental impacts ✅ Value and embed nature in decision-making and disclosure Our revised #Biodiversity Standard (#GRI101), aligned with the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, is there to help organizations better understand which decisions and business practices lead to biodiversity loss, where in their value chain impacts occur, and how they can be managed.

With just under 100 days until @[UN Biodiversity] #COP16 in Columbia, we’re delighted to announce that JS Global Advisory along with 130 other businesses and financial institutions is calling for renewed policy ambition to implement the Biodiversity Plan and halt and reverse #NatureLoss this decade. Through the COP16 business statement, we’re urging governments to: 🌎 Make sure business and financial actors protect nature and restore degraded ecosystems 🌎 Ensure sustainable resource use and management to reduce negative environmental impacts 🌎 Value and embed nature in decision-making and disclosure 🌎 Align all financial flows to transition to a nature-positive, net zero and equitable economy 🌎 Adopt or strengthen ambitious global agreements to address key nature loss challenges We recognize the real risks nature loss is already having and will continue to have and are committed to act. But we cannot address the challenges alone, and voluntary business action is not enough. V encouraging to see that ahead of major biodiversity talks later this year, 130 companies and financial institutions with combined revenues of $1.1tr are urging stronger action to restore and protect nature, and greater partnership between government and business. This is leadership. For their companies, their funds, their industries and the planet, all of which depend on natural ecosystems to profit and thrive. #NetPositive advocacy, instead of the shortsighted lobbying we still see too often. Well done Business for Nature for helping these businesses come together, to stand up for the five big policy recommendations below. Now we have to work with policymakers to show that, if they are ambitious, forward-thinking C-suites and investors stand with them.
