It is often said that death brings families together. If you find yourself saying “WHAT??” you are not alone. Death is often tragic, and grief is a time when emotions run high. Not everyone processes things the same way, which is perfectly normal, however, this can lead to more arguments. It is easier for arguments to break out between a family when a member dies. Arguments might be about anything from funeral preparations to inheritance, to just not knowing how to talk to one another without that person. This is your reminder that if you’ve had to take space from your family following a death, you are strong. And don’t worry, you can let us know just how shitty it is in the comments or our messages. #griefmisconceptions #familyties #griefchanges #grief #thoughts #nofilter #community #support #supportgroup #normalizegrief #griefrevolution #griefislove #iloveyou #lovemyself #healing #healingjourney #youngwidowsclub #younggriever #spousalloss #losangeles #pasadena #california #griefrecovery #missyou #griefeducation #griefeducator #learningaboutgrief #grieftruths #griefsucks #kintsugigriefcenter

HELLO 👋 WORLD 🌎! Homelessness is a pervasive issue, affecting not only those in impoverished regions but also those in well-established societies. It reflects deeper challenges of our time. Yet, as Scripture reminds us, "The poor will always be among you, but you can help them anytime you want." (Mark 14:7). Our responses to societal issues often stem from choices that either uplift or destabilize our life journeys. These choices are shaped by our reasoning and mindset, which can be clouded by the influences of social media, diverting our focus from our true selves. Philosophically, Jean-Paul Sartre spoke of the "burden of freedom," where our choices define our existence. Our decisions, while liberating, can also lead to suffering when not aligned with truth and self-awareness. In today's digital age, the norms imposed by social media often feed us illusions of happiness and success. Psychologically, this can result in shattered dreams, as the social comparison theory suggests, where we measure our worth against an unrealistic, curated version of others' lives (Festinger, 1954). Furthermore, many are not only exploited by external systems but also by family and loved ones. Like the woman in the video, some are misled or manipulated, illustrating the vulnerabilities we face when disconnected from our inner worth and value. Sociologically, these dynamics are rooted in the power structures of relationships where dependency and control thrive, leading to an erosion of self-love and self-worth. The Bible cautions us to be wise, praying for the spirit of discernment: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:2). Let us not judge those who are suffering, for any one of us could be in their shoes. May we extend love without prejudice, and may God grant us wisdom to discern the truth in our paths. Happy and fruitful Thursday, everyone!
