Join Duncan Chater at the Orange Theatre during World Travel Market (WTM) London on the 5th November at 2pm to hear from industry professionals about the different Circular Economy approaches organisations could be using to create more resilience for the Tourism Sector in the face of climate change and widespread biodiversity loss. In order to better integrate Circular Economy principles and practices in tourism, I will be sharing insights about: 💰 Investing in community-owned, led and managed tourism enterprises many of which are already using Circular Economy principles as part of their business model. 🌟 Including indigenous and local communities at every stage of decision making, to ensure that Circular Economy models are adapted to the local context. 🫶 The value of working with specialised local NGOs and non profits to bridge the gap between the public and private sectors while ensuring that communities are included in decision making and implementation processes of the Circular Economy. 🌱 The necessity of increased practical collaboration between private, public and third sector stakeholders, with a focus on the proactive and rapid implementation of circular economy principles on a global, regional and local scale, prioritising the positive impacts of tourism operations on people and Nature. This session has been organised by The Global Travel and Tourism Resilience Council and will feature Will Plummer, Rebecca Brett, Tess Longfield and myself as panelists. #circulareconomy #tourismresilience #communitytourism #collaboration #industryinsights
