I met with up Kaitlyn Pierce yesterday for lunch to discuss our shared interest in breaking into the Berkshire pickle ball scene. (What do retirees and potheads have in common? 👴🏻🏓🌿)
We hadn't seen each other since before the plague. More of our lunch meeting was spent catching up about jobs, babies, dogs, and husbands - in that order - than plotting outdoor recreation domination.
But what I enjoyed most was spending nearly two hours exchanging ideas and getting nerdy with a fellow marketer. Kaitlyn has a brilliant creative marketing mind and loves cooking up weird stuff just as much as I do. There was a lot of, "OH! You know what would be great???"
Way back in 2012, when this photo was taken, Kaitlyn's social media work was a magic no one actually understood and I was just a wee junior graphic designer. Today we're both developing and implementing inbound marketing strategies.
Tl;dr: Kaitlyn is wicked smart. If you have a pickleball hookup, hmu. I totally know what I'm doing (trust me).

Struggling with adapting visuals for diverse markets?
Here is what I would do...
What I’d do is start by really diving into the cultural nuances of each market. It’s important to understand what resonates with people there..
I’d work closely with local designers or consultants to make sure we’re hitting the right notes.
Testing different visuals and getting feedback before going all in is key too. And, of course, keeping communication open with the team so we can tweak things as we go.
This way, we’re not just guessing—we’re making informed decisions that connect with everyone.
🎄 Ready for the Christmas Period? Let’s Make It Unforgettable! 🎅
The holiday season is a magical time, especially for businesses to connect with audiences. Whether it’s festive campaigns, holiday-themed products, or a sprinkle of seasonal animation, now’s the time to make an impact. Here are a few ideas to get in the holiday spirit:
1. Add Festive Visuals 🎨: Snowflakes, twinkling lights, and holiday colors can instantly bring warmth to your branding.
2. Engage with Storytelling 📖: Share stories of holiday traditions, customer success, or even behind-the-scenes looks at your team’s holiday prep.
3. Seasonal Promotions & Giveaways 🎁: Everyone loves a good holiday offer or a chance to win something special.
4. Spread Cheer with Animation ✨: Bring joy to your audience with animated greetings or themed video content. Animation is a great way to share holiday messages that stand out.
Let’s make this Christmas period one to remember!
The new Heydays Creative website is live! 😵
This marks the culmination of a (long) process, which included:
⚡ Figuring out how to get a seat at the table with design studios
⚡ A complete rethink of everything I ever thought I knew or believed about writing
⚡ Figuring out how to build a strong brand when our whole business model was about blending into others' brands
⚡ Developing a writing process that worked across different agency models
⚡ Trusting our visual identity into the capable hands of Theory Agency
It's the closing of one chapter, and the start of a new, better chapter. Check it out 👇

🚀 Hello LinkedIn Community! Today, I'd like to share my latest project with you, titled 📰 Embarking on a Design Adventure in the Colorful World of New Age Journalism.
✏ Story Behind the Design: This project aimed to create visually engaging and easily understandable designs targeting an audience aged 40 and above in the colorful world of new age journalism. The goal was to attract and captivate viewers by offering visual richness in news flow. While crafting our designs, we took into consideration the expectations and needs of our target audience, enhancing news content visually with a fresh and innovative approach.
🎨 Design Details: Throughout the design process, we strengthened the visual narrative of the news with aesthetic touches and innovative graphics. Strategic use of colors and visual elements aimed to capture the audience's attention. Each design aimed to liberate us from conventional 'office' designs, while aiming to enrich the news world and increase engagement.

Day 412: How do we create one-of-a-kind, humorous, and fun social media content that makes people both laugh, and be inspired to chase a dream at IMG Models? We start by setting trends, instead of following them.
What does dAN aBARCA bring to the table? Known as "The Model With Humor," he is a star-studded addition to the roster of IMG Models. See, when a company hires a model, they then need to hire an entire team around them. They just hired the face, great, but now they need to hire a photographer, an editor, a publicist, an agent, a director, a stylist, etc.
dAN aBARCA is the first runway model in history that is all of those things in one, donning the title of "Digital Renaissance Man," as he's well-versed in every aspect of social media content creation, which is the primary outreach of what IMG Models produces. It's the prayer that model scouts and employers like Courtney Tracey, Ian Stone, and Corrina Lewis have been waiting for in the year 2024. They are in the business of acquiring talent before anyone sees them, and I am boldly ensuring my existence is known to them.
Rockstars, musicians, and more influence the energy of "the youth," so what the previous generation would gawk at, our generation goes "oh yeah, that's awesome." That's what I make in all my videos. It's the same thing when Alexander McQueen made clothes, considered "too scandalous" for runway, and thus sold out every single drop he did. There is always a public demand for something DIFFERENT from the norm, and dAN aBARCA is "tHE aNOMALY." Keep pursuing the impossible, this was me on Day 412.

Struggling to get consistency and cohesiveness with your Midjourney images?
Try these 20 --sref codes and thank me later.
---
For those who are new to using style codes, here are some common questions I get asked about them (answers below).
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗥𝗘𝗙 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀?
SREF codes are specific parameters used in Midjourney to apply preset styles to generated images. Each code corresponds to a particular visual effect or aesthetic, allowing creators to achieve consistent and unique styles without complex prompts.
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗥𝗘𝗙 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀
To apply an SREF code, simply add it to your prompt when generating an image. For example: poster --sref 19961010
The --sref parameter followed by the code number will apply the corresponding style to your image.
𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗥𝗘𝗙 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀
𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: SREF codes help maintain a consistent style across multiple images.
𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆: They eliminate the need for lengthy, complex prompts to achieve specific styles.
𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: You can easily explore various styles by trying different codes.
𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗥𝗘𝗙 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀
There are a few ways to discover SREF codes:
► Unlock them yourself by typing your prompt, followed by --sref random.
► Social channels like YouTube and X
► Community databases
𝗔𝗱𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 (–𝘀𝘄)
The –sw (style weight) parameter determines how strongly the style reference affects the output. This parameter ranges from 0 to 1000, allowing you to fine-tune the extent to which the style is reflected in your results. With a default value of 100, increasing the style weight intensifies the influence of the style reference on your output.
I tend to use --sw 250 but you can absolutely go higher or lower, just my preference (tip: stay above --sw 100 when testing)
Which one is your favorite?

For anyone thinking about taking on a rebrand, redesign, or any significant creative project…
At our core, we believe that experimentation is essential to creating work that is interesting, beautiful, and innovative. But at the end of the day, it must be meaningful and add value.
While design tools are more accessible than ever, allowing many to try their hand, we believe true design must always tie back to a strategic vision and brand identity. Adding something just because it’s trendy or cool isn’t enough. It’s our job to help our clients—and anyone thinking about tackling a big creative project—understand the value behind design.
That’s why we’re launching DEEO’s Creative Lab: Behind the Design—a gallery dedicated to featuring some of the most interesting and engaging design, animation, and effects we’ve created, with an in-depth look at what it adds, why it matters, and the value it brings.
https://lnkd.in/ezkTgqvc
We will continue to add to this gallery and post highlights now and then, but we invite you to check it out and explore. If you’re curious or want to learn more, reach out! We believe in fostering curiosity, embracing exploration, and discovering new opportunities to create together.
