NEW PAPER: The roles of state and non-state actors in early warning and early action. In many guidance documents and calls to effective #EWS, we continually hear that we need to work with all stakeholders across the EWS. But, to date, guidance and explanation of exactly who those stakeholders are, and what their roles can be across different components was limited. In particular, as an NGO, we at Practical Action see that this often results in non-state actors missing from vital spaces that inform the design and delivery of EWS, despite their demonstrated value, particularly in developing country contexts. With limited resources, and increasing need in the face of climate change, we need to work together more effectively across state and non-state actors to ensure EWS delivers for everyone. New REAP Paper Launch at the Understanding Risk Conference! We are happy to announce the launch of our latest paper, "The Roles of State and Non-State Actors in Early Warning and Early Action" presented at the Understanding Risk Conference this week and supported by Practical Action and Met Office. In an era of escalating climate crises, governments are increasingly challenged to protect their vulnerable populations. USDA AMS announced a cooperative agreement with the District of Columbia under the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program (RFSI).         Through this agreement, USDA and Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development are working together to offer more than $1.4M in competitive grant funding for projects designed to build resilience across the middle of the supply chain.        D.C. is taking applications through Jan. 12, 2025. https://lnkd.in/eys6tXTt
