12 Research Assistants / PhD Funded Positions at the Centre for Climate Resilience, University of Augsburg in Germany The positions are part-time (50 %) and run for a fixed period of three years. If the prerequisites are met, the salary will be according to the TV-L 13 pay grade. The positions are funded by the University of Augsburg’s “Green Transformation” programme and will be coordinated by the research units listed below. The research topics associated with the individual positions are as follows: WaterRes: Development of indicators for the resilience of the water supply and quantification through earth system models (Prof. Dr. Harald Kunstmann) Stabilising natural and managed land systems against climate disturbances and extreme events – DETECT (Prof. Dr. Katharina Waha) Building resilience in critical zones: Steep-slope agriculture under changing environmental conditions in the Rwenzori, Uganda – ResCUE (Prof. Dr. Markus Keck) Raw material demands for a climate resilient future (Dr. Andrea Thorenz) Risks of the green transformation with respect to forest and climate protection – a qualitative study of transnational negotiations of the CO2 market in the Amazonian basin (Prof. Dr. Maria Backhouse) Planned relocation and early warning in the Caribbean: Discourses and practices of “vulnerability” from the perspective of a Decolonial Political Ecology (Prof. Dr. Angela Oels) Operationalizing early warning systems for decision support in water management (Prof. Dr. Florian Diekert) Resilient logistics and inventory management in the face of climate change (Prof. Dr. Manuel Ostermeier) Can biodiversity metrics serve as useful early warning indicators of financial Your profile: Above-average university degree in a discipline that qualifies you for one of the research topics or an equivalent qualification. Specific research interest in at least one of the research topics. High-level commitment with the aim of being able to undertake independent academic research in an interdisciplinary environment. Ability and willingness to integrate into a working group and the research network.
