#Fermentation: Small organisms, big achievements! 🏆 Learn more about the vital role played by fermentation processes in producing different everyday products:
🦠 Microorganisms and fermentation processes play a vital role in producing many everyday products that we consume, including beer and sweets. #Fermentation is a process that happens by feeding microorganisms in contained spaces - bioreactors - with biomass, like agricultural crops, animal and forestry residues. Through this process, #microorganisms can transform the biomass into different products, such as alcohol or lactic acid. These chemical components are key for the manufacturing of consumer products, such as food ingredients and feed additives. 🍻🧁 The application of biomass fermentation, however, is not limited to the food sector. Final products include microbial pesticides and fertilizers, vaccines, cosmetics and cleaning products. 💅💉 You can read more about fermentation at: https://lnkd.in/eft-BgKH

SAF Investor News: Do you want fries with that? Did you know the U.S. imported 3.6 million tonnes of used cooking oil and tallow between 2023 and mid-2024? Much of this came from China, sparking concerns from U.S. farming groups over sustainability and energy security. In response, the Farmer First Fuel Incentives Act aims to prioritize domestic feedstock and extend the 45Z tax credits for renewable fuels by seven years. Senator Roger Marshall, a key advocate for the bill, stressed the importance of supporting U.S. farmers. With widespread support from agriculture groups like the American Soybean Association, this legislation could reshape biofuel sourcing in the U.S. How will this affect renewable fuel producers and U.S. agriculture? Share your thoughts in the comments! 🔗 Read the whole story on our blog https://lnkd.in/e4h637hv #Biofuels #SAF #EnergySecurity #USFarmers #Agriculture #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy

Is #Mexico seeking to leverage the competitive prices of #naturalgas in #NorthAmerica to bolster its agricultural capabilities? Based on recent developments and investment announcements, that appears to be the case. With #ammonia and #urea projects moving forward, the goals are to slash imports (see 📊 below), particularly from #Russia, shield farmers from global price volatility, and strengthen the country’s food security. By investing in local production of essential nutrients, #Mexico may be paving the way for a more resilient agricultural landscape.
