Digital agriculture is a challenging endeavor. And so is inventorizing digital agriculture solutions/initiatives. AgTech Companies (Startups) are always pivoting/evolving as they rightly search for repeatability and scalability of their business models. Others close shop suddenly. Others zombie around with a good-looking website and no real clientele behind them. Last year, they may have been about crowdfunding for ag. Production; next year, they may be about consolidating input supply. Last year, they may have been about video-based advisory to farmers; next year, they may be about output market coordination. Another promising to become a unicorn in five years might as well close shop by next year, and the founder may have become a senior leader at an NGO. This year, the company may be big on inclusive markets and value chains for smallholder farmers; next year, they may talk about their new large mechanized farms with IoT and efficient automated production. Even for digital agriculture initiatives embedded within rural development projects by Governments and NGOs, funding dries out, or program management finds new priorities. Suddenly there's not much to hear of a promising initiative. In many cases, old inactive pages on Facebook and Twitter are the only evidence you find of a previously thriving initiative/solution. #DigitalAgriculture; #AgTech #Startups Are there any studies out there on this important trend? Digital Agri Hub; Development Gateway: An IREX Venture; Beryl Agengo; Ken Lohento; Parmesh Shah; Brenda Mulele Gunde; Benjamin Gyan-Kesse Josh Woodard; Grow Asia; Wayan Vota;
