Federal Communications Commission’s Post

We’ve received 2,734 applications from schools and libraries to participate in the Schools and Libraries Cybersecurity Pilot Program, a total of $3.7 billion in requests to fund cybersecurity projects during the three-year program. The program will provide up to $200 million in funding in order to help with the costs of eligible cybersecurity services and equipment, while providing us with data to better understand whether and how universal service funds can be used to improve school and library defenses against increasing cyberattacks.   “The overwhelming response to our pilot program makes clear that the cybersecurity threats impacting school systems are widespread. The Pilot Program provides an excellent opportunity to both learn from these varied experiences, and also test out solutions in different environments.” – Chairwoman Rosenworcel

Although a great program, I wonder what will happen to all such programs come January 20th 2025.
