What an insightful, inspiring, and impactful three days at Impact Week 2024! 🙌 🌍💚 A heartfelt thanks to Marta del Castillo for moderating enlightening conversation during the session “An integrated finance approach to solve the water crisis.” 🙌 It was an honor to join Raul Pomares Facundo Etchebehere and Daniel Valenzuela. Big thanks to Iñigo Eguia for all the effort in coordinating us. As devastating floods swept through Europe this year and climate-related losses topped €13 billion in Europe, the urgency for action could not be clearer. ➡️ Collaboration is key: scaling fragmented efforts into holistic, long-term approaches and leveraging blended finance with diverse instruments can make a real difference. ➡️ Just as important is how we view water - not merely as a resource we use but as the essence of our landscapes, businesses, and lives. 🌍💧 🌟 Impact Week set the stage for some of the most prominent changemakers and thought leaders driving impact across sectors through three themes: ➡️ Madness: Acknowledging the challenges of a mad world. ➡️ Boldness:Taking bold steps to address them. ➡️ Brightness: Working tirelessly for a brighter future. 👥👥 Listening to numerous conversations across Impact Week sessions - from the Policy Hub on enabling EU policies for impact through discussions on mobilizing capital through innovative tools like catalytic capital to advancing impact investments in Central and Eastern Europe, proved that profound impact is possible, but effective mobilization of private and public funding is critical for moving forward. 📣 Last but not least session - Youth Hackathon led by Mondragon University & Seed Capital Bizkaia, was powerful and emotional close. I don't recall the name of the scientist who said this on stage that day, but oh boy, I couldn't agree more ... this is a topic that has been in my mind all year long, because I wonder What's The story people need to hear to get in action? These and many more words of wisdom I gathered at the Swiss Impact Forum last week in Bern You know, when knowledge impacts you that deep that still a week later you keep thinking about it... I couldn't agree more with B Lab sticker "it's time to act" While I still go over my notes of that day, I continue to gather knowledge and information from within my network daily, and commit to taking steady daily actions, small is mighty in my books... And so much so when you get to be part of such a great event, and get to mingle and enjoy with like-minded people 🙌🏽 Marina S. Here my top 3 takeaways: "the triple bottom line was done in light of responsibility, but this isn’t moving the needle… resilience, regeneration are key to drive the change in the new order" - John Elkington "How much is enough? seems to be the question … I guess we want to examine the concept of sufficiency. If you have a clear purpose it’s easier to act afterwards.
