#NewsAnalysis: The increasing catastrophising in India regarding immigrants stealing jobs, causing demographic changes, and posing a threat to locals in the run-up to the Jharkhand State Assembly elections is right out of the far-right playbook While anti-immigrant sentiment runs high, not all immigrants are made equal in the Indian popular and political imagination. We were told that Bengal thinks 100 years ahead of other states. I can clearly see that, as Bengal is facing what the country will face in decades to come, the thoughtfulness and dinner table discussions in Bengal failed to prevent the talibanisation of certain parts in Bengal. If someone think that illegal immigration (as far as India is concerned) must not be centre of discourse, this opinion can only be attributed to delusional thought process. Immigration hampers demography, civic sense changes, and societal behaviour changes with the change in demography. -Public flogging of women committing adultery. -Cutting hairs of Woman publically. -Raping and throwing the body in sewage lines. -Threatening women if they discuss the instances of rapes and assault with outside media. This is what progressive Bengal looks like. This is How the left ruins a state. Major Highlights :- + Home Ministry of Bangladesh has alleged that their one crore citizens are missing. (because they crossed borders and came to India) + Illegal Immigrants and Rohingyas refugees have been scattered throughout India. + Most of the immigrants were able to get the documents so that they can easily vote in elections.

Why there is so much noise about CAA, is it worth it? Let's understand what CAA is - and why it was so important to make this decision before elections in India CAA - Citizenship Amendment Act This bill was already passed in 2019, but due to massive protests and violence it was not implemented in all the states The CAA makes it easier for non-Muslim migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan to get Indian citizenship. The law is applicable to all migrants who arrived in India on and before December 31, 2014. So, why is there a chaos and who is making this chaos happen!!! Its the opposition political parties, But why? Reality is that the major vote bank of their parties are residents who came illegally in India from Bangladesh, Pakistan etc. to make sure that NDA (BJP) cannot win the elections completely as this will give them the power to pass any bill very easily in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha However, it's a master stroke of implementing this bill just before elections and this will lead to 100% hit on those parties and rather than buying the votes, actual promises are required to win the elections of 2024. Just letting you know same thing happened at the time of Article 370, but it was very necessary to get it implemented. We are aiming for 3rd largest economy in the world, and we need to take bold decisions to make this happen and not entertain any political propaganda. That's it for now :)

🇮🇳 SPECIAL REPORT - INDIA ELECTIONS 2024 🗳️ In our program "Así es Asia" (This is Asia), France 24 en Español dedicated an extensive 13-minute special to the crucial general elections in India, with a particular focus on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's attacks against the Muslim minority. We covered the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act that excludes Muslims, Modi's incendiary comments labeling Muslims as "infiltrators," and the construction of the contentious Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a symbol of the rise of Hindu nationalism. We also explored the challenges faced by young voters in a country where unemployment and inequality are on the rise. With the government denying visa renewals to foreign journalists, it is even more vital that Indian citizens themselves report to the world about this election that will define the course of the world's largest democracy. Don't miss our full special report at the link: https://lnkd.in/gWaJg4en. 🔗 #EleccionesIndia2024 #InformeEspecial #AsíEsAsia #France24 #DemocraciaEnJuego #Modi #MusulmanesBajoAtaque #JóvenesVotantes #PeriodismoSinFronteras #IndiaElections2024 #SpecialReport #AsíEsAsia #France24 #DemocracyAtStake #Modi #MuslimsUnderAttack #YoungVoters #JournalismWithoutBorders

Amidst the anticipation of upcoming general elections, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) made a significant announcement on March 11 by notifying the Citizenship Amendment Rules, 2024. This development paves the way for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was passed by the Parliament in 2019. The CAA aims to provide citizenship to undocumented individuals belonging to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi, Christian, and Jain communities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, who fled religious persecution in their home countries. Under the newly notified rules, applicants seeking citizenship will be required to furnish six types of documents, including specifying their "date of entry" into India. This meticulous documentation process aims to streamline the citizenship-granting procedure and ensure transparency in the application process. As the nation prepares for the upcoming elections, the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act is likely to remain a focal point of public discourse and political debate. #caa #CitizenshipAmendmentAct #Election2024 #CAAIndia #Indianlaw

Our founder, Anshu Meghe, shares insightful reflections in his latest piece for South Asian Voices on the necessity of inclusive external voting policies to boost voter engagement within the Indian diaspora. As India fortifies its global diplomatic relationships, the introduction of external voting could play a pivotal role in safeguarding and advocating for the interests of its diaspora communities across the globe. Amidst an era characterized by heightened migration and an increasing demand for political inclusivity, adopting such electoral measures exemplifies India's commitment to global engagement, democratic values, and technological progress. This article offers an in-depth examination of how external voting not only empowers the diaspora but also solidifies India's stature on the world stage. We encourage you to read this important discussion and share your perspectives. In this video, I speak about how immigration to the #US now is not as favoured as it was a couple of decades ago. The fact that #India has now become one of the Top 5 #economies in the world ensured that many #global #corporation see India as a investment haven and shifting focus to establish base here. I also urge the younger generation come as the opportunities in India will be in abundance. #Bharat #USElections #AdityaSesh

In case you missed it, yesterday modi’s #BJP passed the Citizenship Amendment Act (https://lnkd.in/e6nS-55N), which ostensibly provides fast track citizenship applications for immigrants from neighbouring countries who have been in India since before before 2015. Sounds good. Well not if you’re Muslim or a Tamil, both of which have been singled out as religious groups that have no such rights and so are at risk of becoming stateless refugees. It seems to me to be quite clearly a move to further inflame ethnic tensions in the build up to India’s elections from a leadership that appears increasingly autocratic. Many commentators have spoken of the BJP administration’s designs to move india from a multi-ethnic secular democracy of Gandhi to a muscular nationalist state where Hinduism holds primacy. In a country where the history of the caste system is as embedded in the Socio-cultural and political fabric as anything else, this doesn’t bode well for minority groups, but for autocrats and tribal leaders who are accustomed to doing what they want for their own. The trajectory appears to be heading that way and we remain mute on the matter or anything else that comes out of India (extra-territorial assassinations of Sikhs and Tamils anyone?) because it is the “worlds largest democracy” and a geostrategic foil to a china the US doesn’t want to see ascend any further. It might be worth remembering that Putin’s Russia is also allegedly a democracy. As is Iran. Holding elections doesn’t mean that minorities are or will be protected, or that the government of the day will do what is right for all. We should ask ourselves whether we truly uphold our “values” in geopolitical relationships, as we decided we do with China, and what that means for our relationships with all countries who show such disregard for the rights of minoritised groups in this way.

My latest: "The Gaza Effect: Labour's Muslim Voter Challenge" I've just published an initial analysis of the 2024 UK general election results, focusing on the crucial role played by Muslim voters and the challenges this poses for the new Labour government. Key points: a. Labour's victory was tempered by significant losses in Muslim-majority constituencies b. Pro-Palestine independent candidates made major inroads, nearly unseating several Labour MPs c. The party's stance on the Israel-Gaza conflict severely strained its relationship with Muslim voters d. Labor faces a delicate balancing act in rebuilding trust with Muslim communities while maintaining its broader coalition e. The election highlighted the growing political sophistication and assertiveness of UK Muslim voters f. Rising far-right rhetoric poses additional challenges for community cohesion and political representation I explore how Labour can address these issues going forward and the implications for British politics as Muslim political engagement continues to evolve.
