Menstrual Hygiene Day is a reminder that millions of girls around the world face challenges when it comes to managing their periods. Did you know that in some communities, girls miss school because they can't afford menstrual products? Period poverty is real, but together, we can make a difference. Here are some ways we can help stop period poverty: Educate: Spread awareness about menstrual health and hygiene. Donate: Support organizations that provide menstrual products to those in need. Advocate: Push for policy changes to ensure access to menstrual products for all. It's also important to take care of your emotional well-being during your cycle. Remember to take breaks, practice self-care, and reach out for support when needed. #menstrualhealth #MenstrualHygieneDay #GirlChild #YoungandPure

Nearly 1 in 4 students in the US struggle to afford period products. 💔 Period poverty is real and happening NOW. Lack of access to period products and menstrual health education perpetuates harmful taboos surrounding menstruation and forces people who menstruate to resort to unsafe and/or unhygienic methods to manage their periods. 🙅 Enter, the Pink Link Project, an initiative to reduce a barrier that some students face every month during their menstrual cycle; the initiative provides free period products to students in our partnering schools--no questions asked. 💜 This Period Action Day, we ask YOU to help and take action: 1. Donate to the Pink Link Project at https://bit.ly/GivetoCP; 2. Purchase items from the Pink Link Project Amazon wishlist at https://lnkd.in/gcBF5MZM; 3. Hold a period product drive; and/or 4. Contact legislators to show support for tax-free period products. #PinkLinkProject #PeriodActionDay #NoPeriodTaxation

Period poverty is when girls and women have zero access to menstrual products and little awareness of what a period is and how to manage menstruation. This is due to the inability to afford menstrual products and the stigma against periods. Give.do’s Mission: End Period Poverty is working toward achieving this goal by distributing free sanitary pads and conducting workshops to educate people about periods. No one should bleed without pads. Many (men mostly) ask me why I request their support to Mae menstrual pads available for all school girls. They don't understand and suggest that I instead ask support to donate school items. What they don't know, and that I keep and will continue telling them is that without menstrual pads, there is no school because no one would get out of their bedrooms, of their house with blood between their legs. Menstrual pads are school furniture too and parents should make them available for their daughters too. And washable menstrual pads are one of the best solutions that will help the girls effectively and safely manage their period for years because you buy the washable menstrual pads once and have yours washable pads with you for years. Think about it. Think about the money you save. Think about your peace of mind. Think about the environment you contribute to protect. Think about your comfort. Think aout your dignity. Think about your health you protect... We www.affamir.com make quality washable menstrual pads with love for you and your beloved ones. For your students. For your colleagues. Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day #MHDay2024, and it's the last chance to donate to our #MenstrualDignity fundraiser! https://bit.ly/4boxbVW We invite you to join us in raising awareness of the millions of women and girls that are prevented from achieving their full potential, simply because they menstruate. Let’s create a #periodfriendlyworld by removing the stigma and taboo surrounding menstruation and ensuring equal access to menstrual hygiene products and menstrual and reproductive education. Would you consider making a post on social media, sending emails, or talking with colleagues today to raise awareness of this urgent issue? In many parts of the world, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda, the lack of education and persistent taboos surrounding menstruation perpetuate poor menstrual hygiene practices. Access to clean menstrual products and proper sanitation remains a challenge, greatly impacting the education, health, and social well-being of women and girls. For many families in East Africa, affording sanitary pads is a daily struggle, with some parents earning less than $1 a day. This financial burden often forces girls to resort to unhygienic practices, compromising their health and dignity. Let's Break the Cycle Together! 💪⛓ Your $10 donation today provides essentials like sanitary pads, underwear and soap to girls and women in East Africa.
