🛞Wheels matter, students matter, innovations matter! 🦾 On November 7th, we at Maxion Wheels had the pleasure of hosting a visit from Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze for a business challenge. 👩🎓 It started as a simple idea during a discussion with their professor about what we could offer the students here at Maxion and the first "drafts" were speaking about HR bingo or finance quiz. Little did I know then, that our colleagues would get so wonderfully and inspiringly involved, leading to the creation of some truly fascinating case studies. 🙌 The students first toured our aluminium wheels production, from the foundry to the final inspection, where they followed the journey of creating our wheels. On final inspection they got a hands-on experience as final inspection operators which our colleagues from quality walked them through.💪 We then set up the business challenge for them covering topics such as logistics, HR and sales. Since the students had only about an hour and a half to go through the case studies and prepare the presentations, we honestly didn´t expect much... but they absolutely amazed all of us with their results!👏 Witnessing their creativity, team work and problem-solving skills in action was truly inspiring. It reminded me why I love organizing these events - transforming a simple idea into a remarkable experience that brings learning and innovation to life. We’re helping create the future of #manufacturing by giving kids fun, hands-on experience with #packaging design. Smurfit Westrock partnered with GiSTEM Inc. at an event showcasing career opportunities in manufacturing, including a workshop where the 300 high schoolers used #engineering principles and creative thinking to design and test actual product packaging.

For over a year, we at Levitate have been fortunate to partner with the Don Wood Foundation to help launch Ignite Advanced Manufacturing. The Ignite campaign is about raising awareness and reshaping perceptions of careers in advanced manufacturing. Throughout this journey, we’ve explored how manufacturing has evolved and discovered the wide range of career opportunities it offers. We've had the privilege of connecting with educators, visiting hands-on learning environments in schools, meeting students whose lives have been transformed by these opportunities, and hearing from inspiring leaders about how they’re bringing new talent into the industry. Creating awareness and changing perceptions takes time, dedication, and meaningful engagement. It happens when people share their stories and experiences. One such story is that of Brevin Bennett, a student who didn't excel in a textbook-based classroom but found his path through hands-on learning in high school. His journey led him to a career in manufacturing, eventually rising to an executive leadership role. Brevin’s experience shows what’s possible—it's not the typical narrative we hear about CTE, and that is why it's so important to share. This is what Ignite is all about—possibility and opportunity. I encourage you to take a few moments to watch Brevin’s story, check out Ignite Advanced Manufacturing, and think about how you can engage in helping build a workforce of innovators, creators, doers, designers, thinkers, and analyzers who will pursue careers in advanced manufacturing and drive momentum in medtech, biotech, automotive, aerospace, energy, construction, defense, pharma and so many other industries that rely on advanced manufacturing.

Successful premiere: KIRCHHOFF Automotive took part in the “Family Business Career Day” in Mönchengladbach for the first time, where we were able to present ourselves to around 600 highly qualified graduates and professionals. The response was overwhelming: talented mechanical and industrial engineering students in particular showed great interest in our diverse career opportunities - in the areas of product development, controlling, financial accounting, sales and purchasing. Innovative AI projects were also a topic. One highlight was the presentation of our B-pillar in a material mix, which demonstrates our technological expertise in vehicle safety: An innovative combination of hot-formed, high-strength steel for maximum occupant protection and more flexible, cold-formed material for optimum energy absorption. “We were able to successfully convey that we have a warm, friendly working atmosphere, characterized by flat hierarchies, great development opportunities and creative freedom,” sums up Wanda Kleine from our HR team.
