𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 🆘 Our team has had boots on the ground in Florida and North Carolina to provide immediate aerial support in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Thanks to our incredible network of pilots, we were able to deploy a drone to a remote, isolated area that had been completely cut off from power and internet. 🎥 The footage we captured was invaluable. It gave emergency responders a bird's-eye view of the damage, helping them prioritize their efforts and identify areas of critical need. We were able to pinpoint flooded homes, downed power lines, and even locate people who were stranded. ℹ️ This real-time information is a game-changer in disaster response. It allows for more efficient resource allocation, faster decision-making, and ultimately, a more effective recovery effort. ❤️ However, it's important to remember that disaster response is a complex and coordinated effort. The public needs to respect the efforts of first responders and ensure they do not impede. Self-deploying into disaster areas can be dangerous and can hinder rescue operations. 📺 It's crucial to stay informed through official channels and follow the guidance of local authorities. By working together and respecting the efforts of first responders, we can help ensure a more effective and efficient disaster response. 🫶 We’re incredibly proud of our team for stepping up and making a real difference in the lives of those affected by this devastating storm. 🌊 South Padre Island, TX got hit in quick succession this summer by both Tropical Storm Alberto and Hurricane Beryl. As a barrier island, South Padre is our first line of defense against storms, protecting inland areas. At RCOAST, we're assisting recovery efforts by collecting and analyzing post-storm coastline data using drones. This helps us determine dune volume loss and identify priority areas for restoration. Our Founder, Christy Swann, noted: "In most places, the sacrificial frontal dune was eroded, but the leeward, intermittent secondary dune did a great job."
