Have you ever looked at the sky trying to count all the stars? That’s what the GAIA spacecraft did here! More than 1.8 billion stars have been used to create the image you see, all of them observed through the eyes of GAIA’s instruments, developed by Airbus Defence and Space 🛰 What you’re seeing here is not a simple photograph, but a real three dimensional map of the sky! Positions, distances and motions of stars have been captured by the instruments onboard the spacecraft, especially the Astrometric Instrument (ASTRO). ASTRO consists of two telescopes mounted at a fixed angle relative to each other. These telescopes are designed to capture images of stars simultaneously, resulting in a rigid system of reference by precisely measuring the relative positions of the stars from both observing directions. Gaia measures also the radial velocity of the stars and their colour. If you are curious on how GAIA spacecraft is made, follow Airbus Defence and Space and the SpaceInfo Club for more content 🚀 Comment below with the name of another instrument onboard #GAIA #spaceinfo #airbus #telescope #education CREDIT ESA/Gaia/DPAC; CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO. Our space-based SSA service in GEO is halfway through its development journey! Thanks to a France2030 project awarded by CNES started in 2023, Infinite Orbits have been collaborating with Telespazio France in developing a space-based SSA service in GEO for a year. This project stands aside, with the goal to survey the GEO belt, collecting data directly with sensors in orbit to complete the catalog currently fed by ground based sensors. This innovative in-orbit service will lead to refine our understanding of data in the Geostationary Earth Orbit. Orbit Guard #3 will embed a tailor-made optical sensor with the capability of identifying objects smaller than 10 cm, which previously remained unseen from ground surveillance. Based on Orbit Guards raw data, Telespazio France will be able to locate and characterize the detected objects, enabling to distinguish between them, based on their processed trajectory, thereby continuously enhancing awareness of the space environment in GEO. After a year of collaboration in this project with Telespazio France and CNES - that’s half of the road already traveled! Hello all! I am elated to announce the acceptance of my abstract titled "Optimizing SmallSat Constellation for Enhanced STM in LEO” at the record breaking 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) IAC2024 to be held in Milan, Italy. The objective of the project also quite aligns with the conference theme "Responsible Space for Sustainability". This project I am working on is a collaborative group project between Small Satellites and Space Safety and Sustainability project groups of Space Generation Advisory Council. This project focuses to devise a small satellite constellation solution in LEO to provide detection, tracking, and characterization services of objects between 1 cm and 10 cm. The satellites are equipped with COTS telescopes capable of detecting small space objects up to 1 cm or better. The essence of this endeavor lies in optimizing the orbit selection for constellation deployment, the number of satellites for constellation design, and the scanning pattern to ensure thorough coverage, along with enabling frequent follow-up measurements. The work that we will be doing in coming months will establish a foundational framework for future research on constellation design and scanning patterns utilizing in-space optical sensors to tackle the escalating issue of space debris amidst the evolving space environment. Looking forward to sharing my insights and connecting with fellow space enthusiasts in Milan, this October! #IAC2024 #iafastro #aerospace #space #spacesustainability #sgac #spacegeneration

Just visited the Space Expo 2024 in Bengaluru – An inspiring event showcasing the incredible advancements in India's space sector. It was truly energizing to see so many startups and organizations driving innovation and boosting India's position in space exploration and technology. One standout example is XDLINX Space Labs, a Hyderabad-based company developing end-to-end nano and micro satellite platforms. XDLINX recently secured a groundbreaking contract with the US-based Almagest Space Corporation to build, launch, and operate the XDSAT-NS satellite. This satellite, powered by Antaris Space's Cloud Software Platform, will integrate E-band communication payloads for Almagest’s Elevation mission in low-earth orbit (LEO), set for mid-2024. This collaboration between XDLINX, Antaris, and Ananth Technologies marks a significant step toward revolutionizing space communication and high-throughput data delivery. (Info taken from website) It's exciting to witness such pivotal projects driving the future of space communication, and I look forward to seeing what these partnerships will achieve in the years to come! 🚀 🛰️ UNDERGROUND ROCKET AND SATELLITE 🛰️ 🚀 Can throwing satellites into the space be successful idea in the rocket launching sector? I mean to say we can put satellite in safer container then with the help of vaccum pull and then the vacuum push we can provide a momentum to the satellite and igniting the small in mid of the process for some seconds can give a boost to the launch and when the rocket/satellite will reach the maximum possible we can again ignite the engines which can then help it in reaching the necessary orbit and when reaching the required location we can do the same process we are doing till now to place the satellite in the required orbit. Read my blog, I wrote to explain similar concept even previously and also understand the pictorial image made for you to understand the concept. I think if worked if worked properly it can become most affordable rocket launching idea. https://lnkd.in/dYqkExUf #FindaPro #SpaceIndustry ISRO ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization ISRO - Indian Space Research Organisation Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) Skyroot Aerospace Bellatrix Aerospace Pixxel AgniKul Cosmos Rohan M Ganapathy IN-SPACe Moin SPM Srinath Ravichandran Pawan Kumar Chandana

Euclid’s science survey starts today – just as Euclid’s twin is unwrapped at #ESOC ESA’s Euclid observatory has just begun to survey billions of galaxies on a quest to uncover the secrets of dark matter and dark energy from its vantage point 1.5 million km from Earth. Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gk-JEhnN #EuclidTwin A few weeks ago, the Euclid Avionics Model was delivered to ESOC from the spacecraft’s manufacturer Thales Alenia Space in Torino, Italy. This unique ‘Avionics Model’ serves as an essential test bench to diagnose and troubleshoot issues seen on Euclid’s flight model in space, and to test procedures and software on the ground before they are executed on the real spacecraft. “The Euclid flight control team now have direct access to a fully functional replica of the inner workings of the satellite,” says Micha Schmidt, Euclid spacecraft operations manager at #ESA. “The avionics model has already proven very important to the mission. It was used extensively during Euclid’s demanding commissioning phase to validate the safety and effectiveness of critical updates to the Fine Guidance Sensor and other on-board software on the ground before we uploaded them to the spacecraft.” This invaluable model remains stationed at ESOC for the rest of the mission, providing crucial support to the Euclid mission. 🔘LASER PROPULSION SYSTEM🔘 An Australian Company is developing an laser for clearing space debris. The concept of the company is, the company will make a high intentse laser which will be focused on the debri which will create pressure on it leading it to change its orbit. The company is planing to put the debris in graveyard orbit where there is least influence of earth's gravitational pull which will lead in nullifying earth's gravity effect on debri. Which will later lead the debri to go far away in space away from the planet. On the similar concept we can design a system where many highly intense laser will be focused on a point. And lasers will be arranged cylindrical manner. With this we can create a laser based propulsion system which we can use for rockets and even for operations of other vehicle on the earth. #FindaPro #Aerospace #Space #Astronautics ISRO ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization ISRO - Indian Space Research Organisation Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) Skyroot Aerospace Bellatrix Aerospace Pixxel AgniKul Cosmos Rohan M Ganapathy IN-SPACe Moin SPM Srinath Ravichandran Pawan Kumar Chandana
