Vertreten durch die Feralpi Group werden auch wir an der Veranstaltung teilnehmen. Ziel dieser Veranstaltung ist es, den Wandel der europäischen Stahlindustrie zu präsentieren, ihren Beitrag zur Förderung von Wohlstand, Widerstandsfähigkeit und Nachhaltigkeit in Europa zu verdeutlichen und sich über bewährte Praktiken der Branche und relevante Themenbereiche auszutauschen. Eurofer und European Aluminium fordern EU-Maßnahmen gegen „Schrottverluste“ Die europäischen Dachorganisationen der Stahl- und Aluminiumindustrie haben kurz vor Weihnachten „sofortige und effektive Maßnahmen gegen Schrottverluste in Europa“ in einem an EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen und weitere Mitglieder der Kommission gerichteten Schreiben gefordert. Sie beschreiben darin die Ausfuhr von Schrotten aus der EU in Drittländer als „im Wesentlichen Exporte von Energie und wertvollen Rohstoffen“ aus einem Kontinent, dem es an beidem mangele. https://lnkd.in/eaDncd3e

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹: 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝗱 by IG Metall High #energy #costs and #overcapacities on global #markets are threatening the German #steelindustry and its #transformation. At and before the steel summit, #IGMetall is fighting with allies for an industrial #electricity #price, green lead markets and fair international competition. "We have no time left. The German steel industry, our colleagues need solutions today and not perhaps in the next legislative period," calls out Jürgen Kerner, second chairman of IG Metall, to the approximately 2,000 #metalworkers in front of the Mercatorhalle in #Duisburg. The National Steel Summit will soon take place inside and Kerner will explain to #politicians and #business #leaders what is now needed to lead the steel industry into a #climate-friendly future and to secure the #transformation and tens of thousands of #jobs. Outside, the metal workers remind people of the current state of the steel industry: they have pulled an old wooden cart up to the steps ofthe main entrance to the Mercatorhalle, loaded with large cardboard cubes that symbolize unnecessary ballast. They say: "energy #prices are too high," "#investment backlog," "#steeldumping from #China," and "#overcapacity." The metal workers want to remind politicians of their task: "Together we must pull the cart out of the mud," is what one large banner says, and another says: "Time is of the essence." And most of the #posters read: "𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲."
