🌳 Amidst a bit of confusion due to glitches in the new voting system, the European Parliament made waves this morning by approving the EU Deforestation Regulation. Some amendments barely squeaked by, but the overall proposal is now set. Key highlights:  📌 One-year delay for implementation 📌 Creation of a “no risk” category  📌 371 votes in favour, 240 against, and 30 abstentions The EUDR targets deforestation linked to EU consumption of products such as cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, soy, wood, rubber, charcoal, and printed paper. By reducing deforestation driven by these goods, Europe is aiming for a more sustainable and responsible global supply chain.

Urgent action needed to save the European industry! Coalition of companies, trade associations call on EU to create market demand for clean industrial products as investments follow demand. Creating market demand for cleaner industrial products is key to safeguard the future of European industry and enable clean growth. This will provide European companies with better prospects for investing in clean industrial products as well as allowing Europe to become more resilient. The need is urgent: clean investment flows are currently drying up in Europe, and some companies are already closing down.
