I am honored to announce that my note has been selected for publication in the Syracuse Journal of Science and Technology Law's 40th Volume! My piece covering the recent filing against Activision Blizzard will discuss the intersection between intellectual property law and antitrust law, as well as the impact a plaintiff favorable verdict could have on the gaming and esports industry. I would like to thank the journal for granting me the opportunity to share it! #esports #gaming #law
Congratulations to incoming Executive Editor, Nathan McKay, for being selected for publication in volume 40!

The Journal of Participatory Research Methods will be focusing on three areas of peer review process improvement in 2025. 1) We will be working to better match our peer review requests to the interests and expertise of the potential reviewers. We want our reviewers to have a genuine interest in the papers we send them. 2) We will be more intentional about acknowledging and showing gratitude to our reviewers. 3) We are developing a peer review training package to present at conferences and in graduate programs to walk new researchers through the peer review process. Critical reading of manuscripts and writing peer reviews contributes to developing writing skills in graduate students and helps grow the peer reviewer pool.

Here's the response I sent to the NYT We Must Engineer Our Way Out of the Climate Crisis! The IPCC is saying that we must remove gigatons of greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere to prevent a total loss of the ice caps and that we must act now. It is not enough to decarbonize industry and agriculture. I appreciate the article bringing this topic to light, but the tone should be more dire as we must wake up to the urgency of this challenge. There are several technologies I believe you should have mentioned in your article. First, Europe is implementing policies to promote biochar. Carbon negative products can be produced using biochar and it can be used as a soil amendment. Biochar is an obvious and powerful solution that should be prioritized immediately. Flash Joule Heating is a new method of making cheap quality graphene that will change the world with superior carbon-negative products. Finally, Terraform Industries has developed a Sabatier Reactor that uses Direct Air Capture with Green Hydrogen to produce carbon-neutral methane with solar power. Ironically, synthetic methane has the potential to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors, including rocket fuel, and make carbon-negative products in the chemical manufacturing industry. Thank you for your time!

In these difficult times, we all could use a reminder about simpler everyday life. In my two collections of columns, the section "My Life" relfects the stories of the people and things that happened in my life. More often than not, readers related to those stories more than any of the others because they reminded them of things in their life. Check out both volumes of "The Last American Editor." https://lnkd.in/gGEyP_gW
