It was a great joining the #BME Symposium alongside our GSUS Procurement colleagues Ulrike Schmidt v. Knobelsdorf Elisabeth Backes, Damian Michael Labusga and Peter Preuschoff, sharing ideas and gaining valuable insights from various industries in supply chain, procurement, and logistics.
Ulrike Schmidt v. Knobelsdorf and I had the opportunity of hosting a Speaker's Corner on the implementation of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). This interactive format enabled an in-depth exchange with professionals across industries, highlighting both opportunities and challenges in this critical area.
💡 Opportunities we discussed:
- Enhanced understanding and proactive management of supply chain risks.
- Addressing data quality challenges while improving transparency.
- Raising internal awareness—it's not just a procurement task, but an organizational priority.
- Collaborating externally with high-risk sectors and suppliers.
⚠️ Key challenges:
- Data quality & data sources remain a significant pain point.
- The complexity of supply chains poses barriers to effective oversight.
- Limited resources require building processes, methodologies, and teams simultaneously.
A recurring theme was how shared pain points offer opportunities for collective solutions. As we look to 2025, fostering collaboration across industries could unlock significant value in addressing these challenges together.
A big thank you to all participants for the engaging dialogue and pushing boundaries in sustainable supply chain management.
