Greek buyers have once again emerged as the dominant force in the S&P tanker market, as entities based in the UAE, Turkey and India have significantly scaled back their activity. Dimitris Roumeliotis from Xclusiv Shipbrokers Inc. notes that high prices, limited interest from countries engaged in Russian trade, and a growing preference for newbuildings are the main factors contributing to the decline in global transactions for second-hand tankers.

Follow the maritime alternative fuels development here:
The strongest new order month ever for alternative fuelled vessels in October! A total of 97 new orders were added to the AFI platform, continuing the strong momentum from the summer 📈 #LNG continues to lead the way with 66 new orders, 58 of which came from the container segment. A strong showing too from #methanol with 29 new orders, mainly from the bulker segment. A total of 464 orders have been placed for alternative fuelled vessels so far in 2024. This is 46% higher than the same period in 2023, and already well beyond the total figure registered in the whole of 2023 (371). #AFI #fueltransition #shipping

Do most investors still call a broker and spend $100 to place an investment trade? Nope, generally trades are free these days. Do most people needing a ride from point a to point b walk outside to a street corner and wave down a taxi? Generally, no, more people book a ride on their mobile. We have introduced a new way to get construction ERP software up and running for your company. One price, no limits, no change orders, no surprises, check out Kurt Bangert's short recent speech CFMA describing how it works. PS more innovations are just around the corner..... #sageintacct #bangertdeployment #cfmaconference
I was grateful to have the opportunity to speak at the Louisiana CFMA Regional Conference yesterday. Here's an except from my talk that gets across the gist of it all. If you are not familiar with CFMA - check them out, it a great organization and resource for contractors. #sageintacct #bangertdeplloyment #cfmalaconference

I would like to thank the organization of COBRAMSEG 2024 for the opportunity to present some of the work that has been developed. The quality control of rock tunnels with shotcrete lining is still carried out exclusively through destructive tests. However, the use of non-destructive tests may be a possibility to improve the quality control, increasing the amount of information quickly and with a cost-effective alternative, as show in the article presented in the congress. Why is the government planning a new shipping company when SCI is being privatised? Initial parleys suggest that many state-owned firms sounded out on the proposal are not keen on taking co-ownership in the planned shipping joint venture A government move to float a shipping company jointly owned by state-run firms owning or importing cargo for their captive use such as IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL, ONGC, SAIL, MMTC and others is not a “workable proposition” and the focus should be on using the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) for expanding the national fleet instead of privatising it, says experts. https://lnkd.in/d5CvRUt2
