🏀 How Anthony Edwards Is Using The Power Of Simple To Take Over The Playoffs 🏆 The best players in the world do “simple” better than everyone else, and they do it repeatedly. Their consistency creates a compounding effect that wears down defenses and elevates them above everyone else. This edit dives into how Edwards uses elite footwork to create neutral-to-attack moments for himself and then makes simple reads from an advantage to finish plays. ❓ Here’s a question: Is a bucket list just a checklist... or is it a roadmap for living fully and intentionally? ❓ For 20 years in the Navy, my life revolved around structure, mission, and devotion to duty - leaving little opportunity for birthdays, family dinners, and those everyday moments that matter most. But now, I’m making it a priority to show up, live fully, and create those "forever memories" when opportunities arise. This past week was a great example. My 10-year-old son, Caleb, has a bucket list, and right at the top? Watching his favorite player, Justin Jefferson, play live for the Minnesota Vikings in person. When the Vikings made the playoffs, I jumped at the opportunity to make it happen. Game tickets? Secured. 🎟️ Flights? Booked. ✈️ Dad of the Year? Locked and loaded. 💪 But life had other plans. Caleb got hit with a “flu blitz,” bedridden for two days. 🤒 We scrambled, pushed flights back to the last possible option, and hoped for a miracle. Just like his favorite player in a clutch moment, Caleb rallied. 🎉 By Monday, we were in Arizona, and he was smiling ear-to-ear, devouring his first In-N-Out burger while watching JJ in person perform on the field. 🍔 🏈 Here’s the truth this "forever memory" reminded me: Bucket lists aren’t about ticking boxes... they’re about being intentional. They’re a reminder to focus on what truly matters: showing up, adapting when life gets tough, and creating meaningful connections with those who matter most. The Vikings didn’t win that night, but we certainly did as father/son. 👨👦 The memory we created was a win neither of us will ever forget. And with the upgrade to First Class from American Airlines for the flight home, another one of his bucket list items was crossed off. 😂 🪣 So, what’s on your bucket list? Whether it’s for your family, your team, or even just yourself, don’t wait for “someday.” Start now. Live with intention. Let’s inspire each other - what’s one bucket list goal you’re ready to tackle? Drop it below 👇... or better yet, just go and DO IT!

Two things I learned from Don Larsen... The story of how his perfect game came to be teaches a good lesson about preparation. Always be ready - Larsen had started Game 2 and was given a 6-0 lead, but lasted only 1.2 innings in a 13-8 loss. He told me, “I expected to be in the bullpen on Monday (Game 5).” So, what’s that mean? Be ready to take advantage of an opportunity even if you think that opportunity may never come. Make the most of every opportunity – Raise your hand if you’ve been the starting pitcher in a World Series game! (…crickets). As rare as that may be for you and me, and as rare as that still is for players today, getting the ball handed to you for such a big game almost never happened in the 50’s. Why? Because there were no expanded playoffs. Two teams, 7 games, that’s it. Don certainly made the most of it. So, always be ready and make the most of every opportunity. That will work wonders for you at school, your job or anywhere else in your life.

Reporter: “For teams that are out of the playoffs, it’s easier to score goals & win games because there’s no pressure. That’s something we hear a lot...” Coach Marty: “Who’s saying that? You said you hear that a lot, so who’s saying it?” This is a great question for the matter of #misinformation and #disinformation. The #credibility of the source matters. An example of not caring about investigating the source is seen when Donald Trump uses a favourite statement: "Some people are saying... not me, but some people..." When people repeat what they've heard or think they've heard without thinking about the source, lots of #weird #outcomes can occur. It's of course worse if someone KNOWS that nobody said it and they're the first one to say it, but just don't want to admit it. #Intentionality to #deceive is what differentiates disinformation from misinformation. But it can't be denied that are also many times when we might think that someone said it, but our memories are just creating #false #hallucinations. Unintentionally creating false memories is probably more frequent because most people aren't out to deceive others. And when there's an #information #cascade already occurring, you're just riding the #wave at that point, rather than creating your own false memories. https://lnkd.in/gR4rcukT Relevant Citations: London, J., Li, S., and Sun, H. 2022. “Seems Legit: An Investigation of the Assessing and Sharing of Unverifiable Messages on Online Social Networks,” Information Systems Research (33:3), pp. 978–1001. The weirdest part of layoffs is opposite of what happens in other competitive arenas. You see, when a competitive sports team fails miserably the first people to go are the coach and the GMs - those responsible for making decisions about how resources are spent and used to compete. In business, it feels more often that those responsible for the decisions leading to layoffs are those who are most likely to stay. You want to know why the same poor decisions keep getting made? The same people making those decisions are still left making decisions.
