During National Engineers Week, we are interviewing some of #OHLAUSA's outstanding engineers to get a glimpse of what it takes for our project teams to deliver the extensive array of infrastructure projects we perform across all of our regions. Today, engineer Louay Abu-Mulaweh, our Assistant Project Manager at the Borough Hall Station project in Brooklyn, NY, discusses the impact of constantly evolving technology and how best to incorporate new engineering methods into OHLA USA's work activities. "To stay ahead of emerging technology, I have joined professional associations where information is shared regarding new equipment and new methods of execution for specialized work activities." Louay also realizes the importance of furthering his knowledge to stay ahead of new technological trends. "I participate in continuing education courses where I learn about the ongoing changes in the industry and people share what has worked and what hasn’t worked for certain activities. Q2. Who or what inspires you in your work? Emmanuel: “The job satisfaction working in engineering is great, working on projects and seeing them come to life after they have been built is an amazing feeling, knowing that you played a part in the development. It gives you the ability to make real life changes that positively impact people's lives.” Please provide one piece of advice for future global ethnic-majority engineers. Emmanuel: “Piece of advice... Find out as much information as you can about your choice of career and how it could look like. Whilst on the job, learn as much as you can and don't be afraid to ask questions!
