https://lnkd.in/dHTcS-tq VTT / Antti Vasara says that the Finnish government should have clear technological focus areas and more investments going to them. That's a great start. Then how about connecting the innovation platforms more to our startups? In Tampere, one of the focus areas in ecosystem agreement for innovation activity is "Resilient Smart City Solutions”. One of the main focus areas of smart solutions is Hiedanranta innovaltion platform. According to the action plan the goal here is to "support and promote StartUp business activities and innovative top solutions. Hiedanranta can work as a piloting and testing platform.” As I have interviewed our clients, the startups are keen to take part in these innovation platforms. In providing new technology adaptions to the platforms and organizations operating there, they would gain ever so important customers and cashflow. Its a win win.

From "Digital Transformation" to "Digital Innovation", Germany just needs to change the keyword. In the past 5 to 10 years the keyword in German tech companies as well as political statements has been #digitaltransformation. The problem with this keyword is that in reality how it was executed has been taking all the processes that were done on paper and making them digital. The goal was mostly "just make it work digitally", where little space was allowed to improve, rethink, explore, how one can achieve the same results in better ways while in a digital platform. Most of the time we had to face stakeholders with minimum flexibility in changing the status quo and understanding the users of today and the future, not of the past. It's a missed opportunity but there's still time to make up for that. This time though the keyword should be #digitalinnovation. The talent is already here, is just the mindset that needs to change. #germany #eu #uxui #productdesign #innovation #berlin #startups
