SUPER. launches in UK schools, ‘Beyond the Circuit’ Key Stage 2 resource to celebrate the imminent launch of The Wild Robot (in Cinemas October 18th) To celebrate the imminent launch of the film The Wild Robot, SUPER. has launched a brand-new resource ‘Beyond the Circuit’ within thousands of UK schools. This brilliant Key Stage 2 resource is linked to Coding, STEM, Art & Design and like the lead character robot Roz, challenges pupils to develop skills to adapt to new environments plus develop ideas on how technology can benefit nature. Activation commenced during this week’s National Coding Week – the resource pack sent to schools included a free copy of the book which additionally supports National Libraries Week. The materials have been created by senior educators in partnership with Universal Pictures UK and DreamWorks Animation. The materials include over 12hrs of branded content linked to the trailer plus a Code Cracking National Competition for pupils to enter where they can win an animal adoption prize. I've had a fun morning working with students at the Haslington Primary Academy Careers Fayre, teaching year 6 students about careers in IT and playing coding games. Creativity and innovation are vital in today's world. We need incubators and hubs to nurture talent, helping us develop solutions to stay ahead. It's time to rethink education, giving more space to extracurricular activities. Creative arts, sports, gaming, robotics, and coding should be part of school learning. We must encourage talent nurturing from a young age. We should prioritize sports, creative arts, performing arts, and coding as much as other subjects. Let's integrate sports academies into education and establish music and acting schools to hone talents early. Do kids really need to attend school five days a week, eight hours a day? How about four days of academics and one day for life skills, design thinking, or symposiums to brainstorm solutions? We need to teach kids about the world and how they can shape it. Let's simplify education and empower kids to build a better future. My two cents.
