The Generation Game - The challenges and opportunities of a multigenerational workforce We have partnered once again with the captivating and thought provoking Russell Beck of ImagineThinkDo.   This will be held at Eclectic HQ on Wednesday 27th November 2024 - 9.00am   There are five generations in the workplace, with the potential for co-workers to be separated in age by 50 years or more! Looking through the lens of the common factors – economic, political, and cultural – that shaped each cohort’s values, this session considers why the differences of each generation are entirely natural and to be expected. It considers where potential strengths lie, the respective value propositions and the potential sources of conflict. Thank you to everyone who attended today's Tech Talent Coalition meeting. We released the results of a 4-month Tech Talent Gap Analysis written by TPMA. Here are my key takeaways: 💵 The highest earning occupation Computer and Information Systems Managers is also one of the least gender diverse occupation. Opportunity for training providers and employers to grow this talent pipeline. 👯♀️ More women are entering the Data Scientist field. This is one of the fastest growing occupations in our region. Opportunity for employers to create inclusive environments. ⏩ Career pathway transparency is crucial for building a tech talent pipeline. Employers sharing pathway into their organizations with talent and training providers bring stronger pipelines. 🏚 Housing affordability remains a challenge for entry level talent seeking employment. At Miami Tech Works we recognize the opportunity for all key stakeholders in the community to collaborate and we invite the innovators and decision makers to join the Tech Talent Coalition working groups! www.miamitechworks.org Share your thoughts on the gap analysis.

In today's ever-evolving workplace landscape, fostering equity and celebrating diversity are not just noble aspirations – they are imperative pillars of organizational success and societal progress. However, we cannot ignore the challenges and hesitations some individuals face regarding Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and anti-racism programs. It is precisely because of these struggles that we must persist in our collective learning journey and cultivate empathy in all interactions. By embracing diversity, we harness the power of varied perspectives, experiences, and talents, driving innovation and enhancing productivity. Moreover, fostering equity ensures that every individual has fair access to opportunities and resources, empowering them to thrive and contribute fully. Yet, the journey towards true equity and inclusion is ongoing. It requires ongoing education, introspection, and action. Through open dialogue, active listening, and a commitment to continuous improvement, we can create workplaces where every voice is heard, valued, and respected.
