Addressing the issue of ports' connectivity, capacity & space is essential to support the significant opportunities that offshore wind presents to the UK. This involves a multifaceted stakeholder approach to expand existing port infrastructure including berths, storage and access, while minimizing the environmental impact from both a construction and operational perspective. The impact of the considerable space requirements and associated environmental footprint is one that ELIRE Infra identified, and our SmartHubs have been developed as a solution to this. #infrastructure #environment #innovation

The Northern Endurance Partnership is proposing an underground, inshore pipeline to secure offshore storage in the North Sea by transporting carbon dioxide generated by industrial operations in the Humber Region. Bellway's Head of Technical and Innovation, Jamie Bursnell, was featured on ITV News this week speaking about the low-carbon homes of the future. 🎥 A film crew visited our Future Home Energy House Labs which is part of a research project led by The University of Salford. Bellway has built the home, which closely aligns with the Government's proposed Future Homes Standard, inside a climate-controlled chamber. Test results funded under the UKRI’s Greater Manchester Innovation Accelerator Programme showed that an air source heat pump could be used to heat the house for less than £2 per day. Exciting news! Industry in Bell Bay and the Tasmanian Government have teamed up to establish the Immersive Skills Training Lab at TasTAFE's Alanvale campus. This cutting-edge facility will focus on augmented reality training for advanced manufacturing and renewable energy sectors, providing access to the latest technology, equipment, and processes in a risk-free environment. The Lab is a partnership between BBAMZ and TasTAFE, with additional funding support from Bell Bay Aluminium, ABLE Energy, Timberlink Australia & New Zealand, APA Group and Liberty - Australia. The Lab will officially launch in February 2025.
