Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) Global Awareness Day is observed annually on May 15th to raise awareness about TSC, a rare genetic disorder that causes noncancerous tumors to form in various organs, including the brain, kidneys, heart, lungs, skin, and eyes. TSC can lead to a wide range of symptoms and complications, including seizures, developmental delays, intellectual disability, behavioral problems, and various health issues. During TSC Global Awareness Day, organizations and individuals around the world come together to educate the public about TSC, provide support to individuals and families affected by the condition, and advocate for increased research funding and improved healthcare resources. #TSCGlobalAwarenessDay #TSCAwareness #TuberousSclerosisComplex #TSCWarrior #TSCStrong #TSCCommunity #TSCResearch #TSCAdvocacy #TSCAwarenessMonth #FightTSC

Dr. Theoharis C. Theoharides discusses how many conditions involve mast cell activation, even if it isn't the primary disorder. Consequently, diagnosing these conditions can be challenging for healthcare providers, as patients may present with symptoms affecting different organs. Dr. Theoharides emphasizes the importance of clear communication between patients and providers, advising patients to focus on 1-2 primary symptoms or organs during consultations. This can help healthcare providers better understand their concerns and speed up the diagnostic process. ▶️Watch the full webinar on YouTube: https://brnw.ch/21wKo6m #mastcells #mastcellactivationsyndrome #MCAS #freewebinar #clinicalresearch #inflammation #autism #COVID19 #neuroinflammation #chronicillness

First UK-wide government forum focusing on services and support for neuro conditions https://lnkd.in/ewtQnrPZ This is a great initiative. However, very important that it's seen as treatment (for recovery and improved function) and not just social care. In stroke, the most common cause of neurological disability, there are many potential treatments that need accelerated development through scientific research and innovation - we just lack the funding that cancer or heart disease receive to get the job done

#Musculoskeletal disorders are one of the biggest contributors to morbidity and place an enormous burden on the #healthcare system in an #aging population. Owing to their immunomodulatory and regenerative properties, mesenchymal stromal/#stemcells (#MSCs) have demonstrated therapeutic efficacy for treatment of a wide variety of conditions, including #musculoskeletal disorders. MSC-Extracellular Vesicles (MSC-EVs) have been shown to elicit diverse #cellular responses and interact with many cell types needed in #tissuerepair. Read More: https://lnkd.in/gB4drBVy

Nick Ward #Stroke research also encompasses so many areas of brain plasticity that directly affect many other conditions, including traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer's, Parkinsons disease, dementia, PTSD, etc. Research into the fundamental capacities of the brain to strengthen residual areas with the latent capacity of damaged areas span almost the entire human neurological health condition. Research dollars should indeed better reflect this global impact / importance.
