The Job Search Hurdle: What's Holding Us Back in 2025? The job market has changed dramatically in recent years, and the challenges of job searching have evolved with it. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a fresh graduate, today's hurdles feel more complex than ever: 👉 AI Overload: Automated systems filter resumes, often making it hard for even the most qualified candidates to stand out. 👉 Endless Networking: "It's not what you know, it's who you know." This phrase has never felt more real, but breaking into meaningful circles can be overwhelming and time-consuming. 👉 Skills vs. Experience: Many companies want the perfect mix of qualifications and hands-on experience, leaving many wondering how to bridge the gap. 👉 Market Saturation: More candidates than ever are applying for fewer open positions, making the competition fierce. But it's not all doom and gloom—there are solutions: The Solution: Stay Adaptable, Strategic, and Persistent ✅ Tailor Everything: Customize your resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile for each application. Highlight the skills and experiences that directly align with the role. ✅ Leverage AI Tools: Use the same technology recruiters are using. Platforms like ChatGPT, Jobscan, or LinkedIn’s AI tools can help optimize your applications and improve your chances of passing those initial filters. ✅ Targeted Networking: Instead of trying to connect with everyone, focus on a few key individuals in your desired industry or company. Engage authentically—comment on their posts, attend webinars, and send personalized connection requests. ✅ Upskill Strategically: Use platforms like Coursera, Udemy, or LinkedIn Learning to acquire the skills most relevant to your target roles. Certifications can fill gaps in experience. ✅ Stay Resilient: Rejections are part of the process. Every “no” gets you closer to the “yes” you’re working for. Remember: A successful job search isn't just about luck—it's about staying focused and adaptable in a rapidly changing world. 💼✨ What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in today’s job market? 💡 Unlocking True Potential: The Art of Reading Beyond Keywords 💯 🔍 As job seekers and recruiters, it's tempting to rely solely on keywords to match resumes with job descriptions. But are we missing out on the best candidates and opportunities by not digging deeper? 👁️ **Why Look Beyond Keywords?** 1. **Context is Key**: The mere presence of keywords doesn't tell the full story. How a candidate describes their use of skills—like leading a team versus participating in one—reveals much about their role and impact. 2. **Quantifiable Success**: When candidates quantify their achievements, it not only shows that they have the skills but also that they know how to use them effectively. For example, "increased sales by 30% through innovative strategies" highlights a significant, direct impact. 3. **Depth of Experience**: Frequent mentions of a skill across various contexts suggest a deep, practical understanding, as opposed to a superficial familiarity. 4. **Growth and Adaptability**: How skills evolve over a candidate's career can indicate their learning and adaptation curve, essential for roles requiring ongoing development. 5. **Cultural Fit**: Tailoring the use of keywords to reflect a company’s culture and values can show a candidate's alignment with an organization beyond just the technical fit. 6. **Strategic Applications**: Demonstrating how specific skills were applied to solve problems or adapt to new challenges can significantly strengthen a candidate's appeal. 🌟 For job seekers, it's about showcasing not just that you have the skills, but how you’ve applied them to deliver tangible results. For recruiters, it's about recognizing these narratives in resumes to find truly impactful hires. 🔗 Want to find the best fit for your team or your next role? Start by reading between the lines. It’s not just about finding keywords; it’s about discovering how those keywords come to life in real-world applications. #Recruiting #JobSearch #CareerDevelopment #TalentAcquisition #JobSeekers

“I don’t want to start over in my career” Common fear transitioning from ministry. But here’s the thing… You probably don’t have to. The biggest hindrance I see to people making lateral or upward moves into the market place is They can’t express why they should be in that position. ⛳️ So in honor of Masters week, here’s an acronym to help you explain your experience so that you don’t have to start over. (This all hinges on you already having clarity for what job you want to do next) PAR P - Problem Understand what problem the position is solving for the company. That’s how companies hire. They need someone to fix their lead problem. So they hire a marketer, because that’s what marketers do. They need someone to fix their hiring problem. So they hire Talent Acquisition, because that’s what Talent Acquisition people do. So ask yourself this question, “Have I solved similar problems in previous roles to this one?” A - Actions Understand what actions that new hire will take to solve that problem. Will they write social posts? Will they pick up the phone and call strangers? Will they build pivot tables in excel to analyze data? The job description should express these things. Ask yourself this question, “Have I done similar actions in previous roles to this one?” R - Results Understand what results that new hire will be expected to achieve by taking those actions. Will the company have more qualified leads? Will it have higher monthly or annual revenue? Will it have more and better employees? The job description may not make this clear, but a little research can give you a general idea. Ask yourself this question, “Have I gotten similar results in previous roles to this one?” Now you have a narrative for why your experience makes sense. Now you have stories to tell to show that you are qualified. Now you don’t have to think about going backwards. 👊 #MinistryToMarketplace #Work #JobSearch #Career #CareerChange

Struggling to find a new job can be way more stressful than holding a poor Product position. Here are 8 actions I would take if I had to land a new job now: 1) Revise the resume I'd give it a thorough update, highlighting the most impactful achievements, and proving the so with data. I'd made sure to tailor it to the roles I apply for and double-check for any typos (yes, even I need to watch out for those!). I'd consider adding a section "Why am I a great fit for this position" to make customization way easier. 2) Invest in a dedicated platform I'd definitely consider and likely sign up for this post's partner: ProductManagementadviser .com . It is an invaluable resource that offers expert guidance, practical tools, and personalized mentorship to help individuals accelerate their career journey. With comprehensive industry insights and actionable strategies, this platform empowers novices and experienced PMs to transform their ambitions and achievements into their next role. What else would I do? 3) Rehers my answers to typical PM interview questions I'd practice and refine responses to common PM interview questions. I always focus on the value delivered and the problem being at the heart of any question in such an interview. Of course, if you don't have questions you'd like to have ready answers, check out the partner mention or hit me up: Either will help! 4) Make sure I can explain LLMs in one sentence With AI being so prevalent, being able to concisely explain Large Language Models (LLMs) shows I'm up-to-date with industry trends. Generally, any AI knowledge that will allow your new employer to progress in this field is a great asset. 5) Announce my search on Linkedin and set the right job seeker status Letting my network know I'm open to opportunities can lead to unexpected connections and opportunities. Not all jobs are there on job boards! Also, updating my profile increases my visibility to recruiters. 6) Set up notifications for new jobs on top job boards With those, I will have the chance to be one of the earliest candidates for an opening. This maximizes my chances to be at least considered! 7) Make job search my job In short: This would become my top priority. No half-assing applications, ignoring cover letters or taking any shortcuts. Only hard work toward the goal! Would you do the same in my hypothetical spot? Sound off in the comments! #productmanagement #jobsearch #career
