Reflecting on the White Blends Category tasted at the 2024 Fine Wine Awards, Sponsored by American Express 🥂✨ “A vast category to taste in terms of all the different cultivar compositions, that being said the quality was high with plenty of interest. The entries spanned from sauvignon-semillon blends to chenin and chardonnay based wines, Rhône style whites as well field blends.” - Malu Lambert Fine Wine Awards Chairperson and Convenor of Judges #finewineawards #americanexpress #winesouthafrica #wine #sauvignon #whitewine #winesa #winewinewine #vino #wino #wineza #whiteblends #blendwine

French Bulk Wines - The new buying campaign has commenced incrementally in southern France: 2024 rosé leads overall demand, Chardonnay leads white-wine demand and Pinot Noir the red. It remains an opportune time for new buyers to contract the qualities and volumes they require: the full range of 2024 wines are still available and there is also availability of good-quality 2023 inventory. Vintage 2024 pricing so far appears in line with 12 months ago or slightly softer, and is potentially negotiable; 2023 wines are generally selling at a EUR0.10+/litre discount. Specific, attractive opportunities exist: for example, southern French Pinot Grigio and organic wines #wine #wines #winebusiness #wineindustry #winemarket #vins #vin #vinsfrançais

Fine Wines | Bordeaux Wines - If négociants can buy wine cheaper on the secondary market once the wines are physical than they are able to ex-château, they might question the need to preserve their allocations. Currently, the Market Prices of 168 Bordeaux wines sit below their ex-château release prices. Today, we assess how this number has changed over time and break down its composition by vintage and sub-region #wine #wines #vins #bordeaux #négoce #placedebordeaux #winebusiness #wineindustry

Here is what 2022 Rhone is like compared to 2021: 2022 Rhone is generous and fleshy, with most wines released already drinking well. However, their flavors and tannins are often less interesting, holding the wine together well but not adding as much interest as they did in 2019 and 2020, or even in successful 2021s. Some winemakers suggested the reason is that the grapes had enough sugar ripeness to make full-bodied wines but struggled to reach the aromatic and tannin ripeness that results in exciting wines.
