A winter parking ban is in effect from November 1 to April 30, and will be actively enforced by the Truckee Police Department. Vehicles parked on town roads or in public right-of-ways during this period risk being ticketed or towed. This ordinance is in place to allow snow removal and ice control operations to proceed smoothly, ensuring our Public Works Department can keep roads safe and accessible. Remember, parking behind snow poles alone is not sufficient—vehicles must be fully out of the public right-of-way. With an incoming storm and reduced visibility, it’s especially important to keep roads clear for safe and efficient snow removal.
