Last Friday new version of Finnish online gambling law came out. It is 357 pages in Finnish. In case you have not had time to read it yet you can now save some time and read the summary by Jari. The general understanding is that the law will not change anymore, EU notifications are underway and it is planned to be send to parliament in spring 2025. So now it is time to start planning your operations in Finland 1.7.2026 onwards; and in case you are wondering why it is 1.7.2026, not 1.1.2027 as previously mentioned - you can find the answer from the text.

Before 2021, the Netherlands Gambling Authority Kansspelautoriteit actively enforced the ban on online gambling, imposing fines on gambling websites attempting to enter the Dutch market. However, after years of legal bargaining, online gambling was finally regulated in the country in 2021. As a result, licensed Dutch gambling websites have become widely available, with most players from the Netherlands choosing these newly officially licensed platforms over black market sites.
