It was an incredible experience talking to Vamsi Madhav (CEO, Finvu (Cookiejar Technologies) about citizen scale applications, how reliability and availability is so very critical for best end user experience. It is always a pleasure talking to Vamsi. He has the ability to put critical observations in simple words. We also discussed specific points which will help decide an enterprise if they should build an #observability stack internally or bring in an OEM. We had the pleasure of catching up with Vamsi Madhav, ex-COO of Sahamati and now leading Finvu, an account aggregator, to discuss how observability is evolving in today’s digital-first, #DPI-driven world. Vamsi shared great examples and simple stories about how every single transaction—from KYCs, payments, consents to lending—now crosses enterprise boundaries. His key emphasis on how reliability across these touchpoints is critical to building trust resonates well with what we see today—delivering internet-scale reliability, transparently surfacing issues, and ensuring every stakeholder—partners and customers alike—has confidence in the system. It was interesting to hear how boardroom conversations have shifted to focus on APIs, consumer experience, and compliance guardrails. Boards are becoming tech-savvy and digital-first! A business-centric observability, Vamsi pointed out, would be soon central to these conversations, helping organizations meet regulatory requirements, scale to handle fraud detection and audits, and manage ever-growing transaction volumes. His gem of a book recommendation: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig, is a wonderful reflection on the philosophy of quality—something highly relevant even today and which every product company strives for in this fast-paced digital era ! "If your team has meeting conversations and afterward the have 'side of the desk' conversations with different storylines, then you have some work to do..." This feel so common that it's almost laughable that I have to say it out loud. How many meetings have you sat in where everyone knows what needs to be said but no one is willing to be the one to say it? It's exhausting and demoralizing and a huge time-waster. If you can inspire just a fraction more open conversation (one of the key tenants of #psychologicalsafety) not only will it *feel* better at work, but work actually happens more efficiently, and some of those meetings really can be just emails. The reason "could have been an email" meetings happen is often because people want to see how the message is received and have some ability to pivot or add context. Teams that score high on open conversation don't need all this posturing. They say what they mean, it's received in the spirit it's intended, clarifications aren't pointed, and collaboration is genuine and efficient. I've seen these teams in action, and I've seen teams that actively work on this be STUNNED by the huge improvement in day-to-day employee engagement and productivity. It's not hard. It just takes intention and time up front, but you get all that time back 1000x.
