What an outstanding first day to our mock exam week. Mock exams helps learners build confidence in exams, identify areas for improvement and motivate learners to start revising early for their finals.

WTH do exam boards think they're doing?? Although my son got amazing results today, the number of kids I saw with yellow slips saying something like "some of your grades are borderline, speak to a teacher if you want them remarking" was ridiculous. Why put that stress on the child? And the parents/carers? And the schools, who then have to deal with the process?? Why aren't the exam boards looking after this entire process behind their own doors so that kids just get their results without question on the day? Only offer a remark if there's good cause for an appeal?? I feel for those kids having to deal with a poor process. Exam boards, please stop putting kids through that additional stress just because you weren't able to determine a clear and final grade - as Roy Keane would say "it's your job!" (And, no, I still don't get the reasons for changing the grading system to 1-9....) On a positive note, I'm very chuffed and proud of my son today!!
