Water-Soluble Phytase vs. Powdered Phytase: Choosing the Right Enzyme for Poultry Feed When adding enzymes like phytase to poultry feed, the form in which the enzyme is delivered plays a crucial role in its effectiveness. Let’s compare the main differences between water-soluble phytase and powdered phytase to help you make the best choice for your feeding system. 1. Water-Soluble Phytase Best for: Liquid feeds and drinking water applications, where the enzyme dissolves quickly and is evenly distributed in a watery environment. Advantages: Water-soluble phytase is highly effective in breaking down phytate (the indigestible form of phosphorus) in liquid feeds or water, ensuring better absorption of phosphorus by poultry. Drawbacks: Typically more expensive due to the additional processing required to make it water-soluble. It is also less stable during storage and transportation, being sensitive to moisture and temperature changes, which can shorten its shelf life. 2. Powdered Phytase Best for: Dry feeds such as pelleted or mash feeds. Advantages: Powdered phytase is more stable during storage and cost-effective compared to water-soluble forms. It’s ideal for traditional dry feed systems and can be used in large-scale feed production with minimal additional equipment. Drawbacks: Powdered phytase needs to be thoroughly mixed into the feed to ensure even distribution and may not dissolve as efficiently in water-based systems. It is less effective in liquid feeding systems. Summary: If your system uses liquid feed or drinking water, water-soluble phytase is the better choice for quick dissolution and optimal phosphorus absorption. For dry feed systems, where cost control and storage stability are key, powdered phytase offers a cost-effective solution with reliable performance. Choosing the right form of phytase ensures better feed efficiency, reduces feed costs, and supports more sustainable farming practices. This version provides a balanced overview of both types of phytase, helping readers understand when to choose each based on their specific feeding systems and operational needs. #Phytase #WaterSolublePhytase #Enzyme

Ensure optimal water quality in your poultry houses with the multi-filtration HYDRA system by TOMIGUNN. Mineral Filtration and UV Light HYDRA is a filtration system that combines advanced UV light disinfection with natural TERRA LIFE mineral pre-filtration to provide safe water. It operates with very low power consumption and can process 5 to 500 gallons of water per minute. Why HYDRA? Why make the investment? The HYDRA system creates good drinking water by using UV light to eliminate 99.9% of microorganisms and natural minerals to adsorb heavy metals and impurities. Once the water is pure, adding probiotics enhances the effectiveness of beneficial microbes, further promoting the health and productivity of poultry. Further, there is no need for the expense of using chemicals to clean water. HYDRA also delivers pure microbe-free water to your cool cells and thus helps improve the birds’ respiration through reduced pathogen uptake as air passes over the cool cells. Pathogen-Free Pure Water Water first passes through pre-filtration canisters that contain TERRA LIFE zeolite minerals. The minerals use their natural porosity to removes water-borne illnesses, chlorine, chromium-6, fluoride, lead, MTBE, nitrates, pesticides, and pharmaceutical residues. Effectively Destroys 99.9% Of Waterborne Microorganisms Next, ultraviolet (UV) purification system inactivates microorganisms within seconds without producing harmful chemicals or by-products. It effectively destroys 99.9% of waterborne microorganisms, ensuring microbiologically safe water. Poultry Probiotic Supplementation With pure water, the farmer is recommended to add all-natural LEMONAIDE poultry probiotics, a powdered water additive, to promote the health and well-being of their poultry. Maximizing Operational Efficiency The UV purification units are designed to be compact, featuring reactor chambers made from stainless steel and requiring minimal space. Additionally, the system induces minimal change in water temperature, even during prolonged periods without water flow, and contains no moving parts that can wear out or break, resulting in a lower capital investment compared to chlorine or ozone systems. We Work With You! We work with you to size the system, equipment recommendations, identify the installation location, and show you how to get the system up and running. Interrelationship among mineral elements and organic compounds of dairy cattle's diet One of the best known of these interactions is between Vitamin D and calcium. Vitamin D is essential for normal calcium and phosphorus metabolism and also influence certain other elements. It plays a vital role in synthesis of calcium binding protein that is involved in calcium absorption. The sparing effect of Tocopherols (vitamin E) on the amount of selenium required is also well known. Much of the phosphorus in the grains is present in the form of phytate. Now phytate is efficiently utilized by the dairy cattle but some species of monogastric animals utilize it poorly. As the calves are functionally monogastric until they develop a functional rumen, it is reasonable to expect that they may not utilize the phytate phosphorus that well. Metabolism of several minerals is also noteworthy. Such as, 1- The effect of parathyroid hormone on calcium and phosphorus (remember the mechanism and logic of using DCAD in transition cows? https://lnkd.in/d6p4j4AM) 2- Aldosterone and it's effect on sodium and potassium 3- Relationship of Thyrocalcitonin and Estrogen on calcium. Etc etc. Still, there are many interrelationships between minerals and organic compounds which are not well understood in practical feeding of dairy cattle. Every individual essential or non essential mineral has several influencing factors. These interrelationships among minerals and organic compounds are used in synthesising Chelated minerals by the commercial dairy additives manufacturing companies. E.g ( Glycine chelation technology). #AN #DairyCattleNutrition #Veterinarian #Dairy #precisionlivestockFarming
