🔥 DO YOU REPORT DAMAGED FIRE DOORS? 🔥 During a recent site visit with the client team, we came across this damaged Fire Door. As well as the visibly compromised door blade, the fire safety glazing was completely missing, rendering this Fire Door useless. The building in question has storeys over 11 metres in height, and as such UK Regulations state that all Fire Doors (including self-closing devices) must be checked every three months, and high-traffic areas or frequently used doors should be checked more regularly, e.g. once a week/month as signs of wear will appear more quickly with increased use. We should all play a part in ensuring that Fire Doors perform as they should in the event of a fire, from the manufacturer, supplier and installer, through to the building owners and occupiers… knowing what to look out for and how to report it if it’s faulty, might just save lives.
