I recently discovered that to get a senior level job in SEO, you need to have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. Because not every website is built on WordPress. The CMS platform made everything easier and more affordable, but if you're working for an agency that works with clients running their businesses on custom-coded websites, as an SEO specialist or manager, you need to know how its front end, i.e., the HTML and CSS parts, work. The job of SEO is not to sit and write code for clients but to provide insights into how to make necessary changes to the website to get an SEO boost. If you want to replace the "no-follow" tag with the "follow" tag on a certain anchor link, you need to know where it is located first and which syntax to work on. The developer may not be available all the time, especially for tasks that are trivial. As an SEO specialist, it becomes your responsibility to get it done. It becomes your job to write a syntax or add logic to it, and ensure that the page runs smoothly with necessary changes reflecting on it. All I have learned so far is that if you want to make good money in the realm of SEO, you need to have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. Because not every website is built on WordPress, and not every developer agrees on working on trivial changes. #seo #seojobs #seotips #seoknowledge
