It's not all in your head!🤯 Medical gaslighting is nothing new, and it is often seen with people suffering from medical conditions and syndromes that are poorly understood and/or under-researched, like #LongCOVID and #MECFS. As patients with firsthand experience with the shortcomings of the medical system, RTHM knows how difficult it can be to find a medical team that listens to your concerns and understands that what you are experiencing is “not all in your head.” Founded by providers who have actually walked the complex illness walk, the team at RTHM understands that medical gaslighting is real and that many of you have been dismissed by your providers in your search for treatment. In collaboration with the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT)’s Urgent and Emergency Care team, we have published new guidance that outlines core principles to guide actions and behaviours for effective front door acute patient care. Our clinical vice president, Dr John Dean, said: ‘We know that delivering acute care for medical patients needs joint working of specialties.
