It's not all in your head!🤯 Medical gaslighting is nothing new, and it is often seen with people suffering from medical conditions and syndromes that are poorly understood and/or under-researched, like #LongCOVID and #MECFS. As patients with firsthand experience with the shortcomings of the medical system, RTHM knows how difficult it can be to find a medical team that listens to your concerns and understands that what you are experiencing is “not all in your head.” Founded by providers who have actually walked the complex illness walk, the team at RTHM understands that medical gaslighting is real and that many of you have been dismissed by your providers in your search for treatment. At RTHM, we are on a journey of discovery and relentless pursuit towards better health with our patients. We aim to provide patients with a comprehensive assessment of their health concerns, partnership in learning what works for them, and adaptability to try the next best therapy. Let's move healthcare forward together. #rthm_health

In collaboration with the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT)’s Urgent and Emergency Care team, we have published new guidance that outlines core principles to guide actions and behaviours for effective front door acute patient care. Our clinical vice president, Dr John Dean, said: ‘We know that delivering acute care for medical patients needs joint working of specialties. Local clinical leaders across specialties should work with operational colleagues using these principles to enable the care delivery they want to provide.’ The 10 principles pinpoint ways of working to improve the patient flow and overall experience, learn more about the guidance: https://ow.ly/wBcj50SRkvY

🌟 World Patient Safety Day: The Critical Impact of Safeguarding Participants 🌟 As we celebrate World Patient Safety Day, it’s vital to highlight the serious consequences of neglecting patient safety in clinical trials. At TASK, we understand that even minor oversights can lead to major repercussions—ranging from harmful side effects and stalled studies to eroded public trust in medical research. The stakes are incredibly high: compromised safety not only endangers lives but also hinders essential medical progress. A single lapse can affect the entire research process, impacting future studies and the broader healthcare landscape. That’s why our commitment to safety is unwavering. We embed stringent protocols at every step, from informed consent to continuous monitoring, to ensure every participant is protected and every study is conducted with the highest level of care. This World Patient Safety Day, let’s underscore that achieving safety is not just important—it’s imperative. ✨Exploring the Unexplored with Dr. Allan Detsky✨ What happens when evidence-based medicine meets the messy reality of patient care? According to Dr. Allan Detsky, distinguished internist and thought leader, only about 15% of clinical decisions are directly supported by randomized trials. The rest? That’s where a physician’s experience, insight, and a touch of pragmatism come into play. In the latest episode of Ditch the Labcoat, we dive into the uncharted waters of clinical decision-making with Dr. Detsky. 🌊 From the gaps in medical research to the challenges of managing real-world complexity, he unpacks why trials often leave us with more questions than answers—and why that's okay. 🎧 What you'll learn: Why most trials target highly specific populations (hint: efficiency is key). How physicians navigate the grey areas when guidelines fall short. The role of compassion and creativity in filling the gaps science can’t. 💡 And that’s just the beginning. We also tackle the opioid crisis, climate change's impact on health, and even the murky world of unregulated health advice online. Intrigued yet? 📣 Bonus: Big things are coming! Our website relaunches in December with even more blog content to keep the curiosity alive. Click play, and let’s rethink what it means to "follow the evidence." : https://lnkd.in/dYNjpAKs 🎙️ #EvidenceBasedMedicine #MedicineUnplugged #ClinicalWisdom #BeyondTheGuidelines #HealthCareReimagined #ResearchGaps #PhysicianPerspective #MedicalPodcast #DitchTheLabcoat
