Greetings on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda! 🙏🏻💐 Earlier this week during my session with children on forgotten revolutions that define our country, I quizzed the children on this. Me: How is Birsa Munda 's birth anniversary celebrated? A sudden eerie silence filled the amphitheatre as the 200 voices suddenly went silent. It was the kind that called for further investigation 😁 Me: Do you know when is Birsa Munda 's birth anniversary? 200 voices: No! I clearly saw where this was going 😁 Deep inhalation. Pause. Long exhalation. 😌 Me: Do you know who Birsa Munda is? 200 voices: Nn--ooo! 😀😀😀 Adults are to be blamed for this. After so much efforts to give due recognition to Birsa Munda, if this remains only a matter for government offices and institutions, then the whole point of the recognition is lost. It appears that children will get to know of it only when they turn adult and start aspiring for civil services exam, so that they will get atleast one question right - if it's asked😁 This is a great disrespect to the lives of such people. There's a lot that we have forgotten as a human race , in our quest for modernity that we can remember and re-learn. That is the spirit behind such observances. The Jewish experience is reflected in the two arks which accompanied the Jewish people on their journey in the desert - a wooden ark with the fragments of the first tablets and a golden ark with the complete second tablets. The various arks, according to Rabbi Dr. Kenneth Brander, President and Rosh HaYeshiva of Ohr Torah Stone, represent both the sense of permanence that we yearn for and wish to achieve in our private domain and the importance of engaging our tradition with society and bringing our values into the public sphere. This changes, the future in the best way possible
The Indigenous Māori people make up the second largest ethnic group in New Zealand, and they now have a new queen, 27-year-old Ngā Wai hono i te pō. She was crowned queen as her father was laid to rest and is his youngest child and only daughter. This marks a big generational shift and one that will positively influence the younger Māori people because it’s a role that is not inherited, but one determined by tribal representatives across the nation. When New Zealand began to enact policies reversing recognition of Māori language, her father, Kīngi Tūheitia, said, “The best protest we can make right now is being Māori. Be who we are. Live our values. Speak our reo. Just be Māori. Be Māori all day, every day. We are here. We are strong.” Following in her father's footsteps, Ngā Wai hono i te pō is passionate, dedicated and the Māori culture is part of everything she does. “I walk around my house and I see a taiaha [traditional weapon]. I get into my car and my poi [performance prop] is on the seat,” she said. “I go home to my parents’ house and my little nephew is there and he’s trying to do the Haka. So it is just everywhere. I’ve been brought up in it, I am it.”

🙂 Going into the weekend, we wanted to share something a little different...As an organization, we're highly supportive of women founders and taking. action to improve remedy the inequity of venture capital when it comes to funding women. Seeing this article got us thinking about the implications and we thought we'd take the opportunity to share something that's a little different in subject, but contextually as significant. 👸 Reposting this incredible piece that highlights the strength and resilience of the Indigenous Māori people, of New Zealand 🇳🇿 and the groundbreaking significance of a woman leader taking charge. 💯 This moment is not just a win for representation; it’s a reflection of the shifts happening in leadership worldwide. Seeing women from historically marginalized communities rise to positions of power signals a long-overdue change—one that embraces diverse perspectives and creates space for voices that have been underrepresented for too long. 🫡 Leadership isn't just about titles—it's about trailblazing and breaking barriers, and this is a powerful step forward. #innovation #future #technology #venturecapital #leadership
