Mari Petroleum Company Limited reported its 3QFY24 earnings earlier today, wherein the company posted Profit After Tax (PAT) of PkR14.12bn (EPS: PkR105.9) for the quarter, lower by 23%/14%YoY — below our estimates. "Mari Petroleum to recover tax by selling bonus shares of non-compliant shareholders The shareholders of Mari Petroleum who fail to pay the required income tax on their bonus shares will see their shares sold by the company to recover the dues, the company's filing on Monday revealed. To note, the 800% bonus issue, as approved by the shareholders of Mari Petroleum at the Annual General Meeting held on September 24, 2024, has been dispatched/credited 90% for filers and 80% for non-filers to both physical and CDC shareholders of the company on September 27, 2024. The withheld bonus shares will only be issued to shareholders upon the company’s collection of tax from the shareholder equivalent to 10% or 20%, as applicable, of the value of the bonus shares issued. OGDCL Records Highest-Ever Quarterly Cash Dividend OGDCL has announced a final quarterly cash dividend of Rs. 4.00 per share (40%) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024, the highest-ever in the company's history. This is in addition to the interim dividends of Rs. 6.10 per share (61%) already paid to shareholders during the year. The final quarterly dividend of Rs. 4.00 per share is the highest quarterly dividend in the company’s history, bringing the cumulative dividend payout for the year a remarkable 101%. The Board of Directors of #OGDCL, in its meeting held on September 23, 2024, in Islamabad, announced the company's financial results for the fiscal year. The company achieved net sales revenue of Rs. 463.698 billion and a profit after tax of Rs. 208.976 billion, translating to earnings per share (EPS) of Rs. 48.59. During the fiscal year, OGDCL contributed Rs. 218 billion to the national exchequer through taxes, dividends, and royalties. The company also made five significant hydrocarbon discoveries during the year, further strengthening its portfolio. In terms of production, OGDCL achieved an average daily output of 33,117 barrels per day (BPD) of crude oil, 717 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas, and 717 metric tons per day (MTD) of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Pakistan Petroleum first-quarter profit falls 20%, surprises with dividend payout Pakistan Petroleum Limited’s (PSX: #PPL) first-quarter profit fell 20.4% from last year as its revenue contracted while cost of sales rose. One of Pakistan’s largest E&P earned a net profit of Rs23.58 billion [EPS: Rs8.67] during the quarter ending September 2024 as against Rs29.63bn [EPS: Rs10.89] in the same period last year (SPLY).
