Ferrol-San Cibrao Port Authority Seeks Approval for Pioneering Renewable Energy Project The Port Authority of Ferrol-San Cibrao has formally requested the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda to grant a concession for the implementation of a groundbreaking renewable energy project at the outer port of Ferrol. This initiative marks the first of its kind for the port and involves the installation of a photovoltaic plant by Ciudad Real-based company PWR Capital Energy. The photovoltaic installation, which is part of the Green Energy Lighthouse project, will have a capacity of 20.02 MW and will supply the port community in a self-consumption format. We recently hosted members of the media at the Ummbila Emoyeni wind energy facility to highlight the progress of the first phase of the construction of the 155 MW facility, which is currently underway and will be completed by mid-July 2026. This visit highlights our commitment to a significant step in South Africa's transition to renewable energy. Upon completion, Ummbila Emoyeni wind farm will be the first of its kind in Mpumalanga. This project highlights the potential for sustainable energy and underscores the importance of inclusive economic growth. The project is set to significantly benefit the local community in the province and foster economic growth. Ummbila Emoyeni is in the first phase of our 900 MW renewable energy project, including 750 MW of wind and 150 MW of solar power. I am thrilled to announce my arraival at Pasargad Energy Development Co (PEDC) which coincided with the annual meeting of this Co’s senior managers. During this meeting, we reviewed the impressive performance of Pasargad Energy Development holding over the past year. In my view, the significant growth PEDC has achieved can be attributed to several key factors: the implementation of a comprehensive corporate-governance model, the establishment of systematic processes, the direct supervision of PEDC’s CEO, and the constructive collaboration among holding companies, headquarters, and employers. These elements have distinguished the company from other major organizations and propelled its forward. Pasargad Energy Development Holding is also at the forefront of #sustainable_development and #green_energy_production. PEDC is set to implement 25 solar power plants with a total capacity of 1500 MW, in addition to its existing power plants by Ctesiphon Co. as one of its subsidiaries . 10MW Solar Project in Namibia Reaches 95% Completion - First Wheeling Project Under NamPower’s Modified Single Buyer (MSB) Framework☀️ SPS is leading the development and funding of a N$200 million investment in a 10MW solar plant, which will generate approximately 26 360 MWh of clean renewable energy per year. The solar plant is under construction at Maxwell Farm in North Central Namibia, with completion expected in early 2025. The energy will be injected into NamPower’s brand-new Eldorado substation from where it will be allocated under the MSB framework to B2Gold Corp.’s Otjikoto Mine, located approximately 300 km north of Windhoek. Francois Van Themaat, MD of Large Projects, states, “We are thrilled to be developing this novel project for B2Gold with our Namibian partners – Fortitude Property Group and the Oelofse family. ➡ In July 2020, 43 SKID 4000 (21 skids Poffader Area) (12 Skids Aggeneys area) each made of two Santerno’s TG1800 inverters, further integrated with locally procured equipment and materials, were installed in two utility scale solar farms located in the Northern Cape Region, South Africa. The solar farms were successfully connected to the grid by a local IPP - Independent Power Producer where a major international player in the renewables sector holds a majority stake. The plants are not only contributing to satisfying the need of the South African network, allowing more than 130 MW (82 MW solar farm in the Poffader area, 45 MW solar farm in the Aggeneys area) of renewable energy to flow in the grid with state to art efficiency but contributed to further enrich local communities both in terms of job creation and knowledge sharing.
