2. Preventing Damage to Your New Flooring An uneven subfloor can lead to premature wear and damage to your wood, vinyl, or laminate floors. For instance, high spots in the subfloor can cause excessive pressure on certain areas of the flooring, leading to cracking or buckling. Similarly, low spots can create hollow or soft areas, which can result in the flooring material flexing or moving underfoot, leading to damage over time. Leveling your subfloors before installation can help to prevent these issues, ensuring that your new flooring remains in excellent condition for years to come.
