Are you a thankful or thankless person? Thankful people appreciate what others do for them and let them know, while on the other hand, thankless people take what others do for granted. No matter what situation a person faces, there’s something to be thankful for. It may take some time and a good hard look to find it, however a reason for being thankful can be found. Those who are thankful generally have others willing to do things to help them compared to those who are thankless. When you do something for someone, regardless of how big or small it may be, how do you feel when that person is thankful for what you’ve done? How do you also feel when no thanks is given? After considering this, who would you rather help more? Think about this when others do something for you. Have an attitude of gratitude and be thankful. You can even train your children to be thankful. My daughter gets her son every night to list three things he was thankful for that day. Being thankful will get your further than being thankless.

Before you complain about school, remember that some people can't get an education... Before you complain about getting fat, remember that some people don't have any food. Before you complain about your job, remember that some people don't have any money. Before you complain about cleaning the house, remember that some people don't have any shelter. Before you complain about washing the dishes, remember that some people don't have any water. Before you complain about the things on social media using your smartphone, without any consideration of how blessed you are, just be thankful for a minute. This is a quote by Vex King that I love. If you have never practiced gratitude, start today and maybe some of the above will resonate with you. What are you grateful for today?

This year, I encourage you to take inventory of everything you have to be thankful for. Despite frustrations, stress, and everyday challenges, I hope you can find SOMETHING that you can give thanks for. I wrote about the power of giving thanks on a daily basis on my blog, if you'd like to read it and be inspired: https://lnkd.in/enivvdm7 What are you thankful for? Comment below!

Over the past few days, I’ve been reflecting on how blessed we are to have what we have, even if it’s the smallest thing. Thank you, Allah, for all that You have given us. If you think about it, no one is ever completely satisfied with what they have—they always want more. Some do this because they are chasing success, which isn’t a bad thing, while others do it because they simply don’t appreciate what they already have. Unfortunately, these individuals often end up losing everything because they lack gratitude. It’s good to want better for yourself, but it’s equally important to recognize what others don’t have and be thankful for what you do have. Alhamdulillah. I always remind myself to compare my situation with others, not out of envy, but to ensure I treat everyone fairly. This reminds me that we are all equal, and life can change at any moment. The rich can become poor, and the poor can become rich, but in the end, we all face the same fate: death. And when that time comes, we won’t be judged based on our wealth or status in the community. It’s all about perspective. People with cars may think those with planes and jets are lucky. Yet, people who ride bikes think those with cars are lucky, while cyclists believe bike riders are fortunate. There are people who walk and think that even those with bicycles are lucky. And then, there are people who don’t have legs and see anyone who can walk as lucky. So, always be thankful for what you have. It’s good to strive for self-improvement, but it’s not good to envy others or be ungrateful. Always say “Alhamdulillah” for anything and everything.
