Great chat about art making, technology, and museums at day two of the Fast Company Innovation Festival. Dooeun Choi's thoughts on the power of art to connect people, and provide moments of reflection in our over-saturated information world, is aligned with how Art Processors approaches our experiential work. The phenomenology of a good visitor experience is when an environment combines the lasting power of emotion with tangible evidence. The evocative leverages the literal to allow for simultaneous transcendence and grounding. Or something like that 😉. You may have noticed that research conducted by Mauritshuis in the Netherlands has sparked significant interest and discussion on social media. If you haven't, researchers tracked the eye movements and brain activity of 20 volunteers as they observed five original artworks and their poster versions. The study found that viewing real art in a museum has 10 times the impact on the human brain than viewing reproductions. From an #inclusivity and #diversity perspective, however, we think several factors remain unexplored and that other aspects of the artwork, rather than its authenticity, explain the differences in engagement. Why that’s a win for climate action The Hammer Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles will be among the institutions taking part in the Climate Impact Program.   The program aims to encourage galleries and institutions to minimize their environmental impacts by providing tools to achieve “climate fluency.” Some participating museums are rethinking how they could relax typical climate control standards in exhibition spaces to preserve energy. https://lnkd.in/g7waCZ6Z
