PRODUCING 90 SECONDS OF TV:
The amount of work that goes into filing a 90-second report for TV takes hours.
My work day is scheduled to start at 2:30pm. I get into the office at 12:30pm.
I immediately begin researching, making calls, vetting, fact checking, and setting up interviews.
Then we hit the road and record interviews. This is important because we don’t just produce for TV. We upload interviews to YouTube, social media and the website.
Then I write the story, one for TV and one for the web.
The viewer sees 90-seconds on TV.
The reader sees 3 minutes worth of text.
But I spend 8+ hours making sure everything is correct, fair, informative and valuable…all under deadline.
After a live shot, the day is done.
Then I do it all over again tomorrow.
