✨ Career Highlight: Power of Paramount Summit ✨ One of my favorite events I had the privilege to host was Power of Paramount, a partnership between Paramount and California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). My goal was to deepen our connection with a Historically Hispanic Institution right in Paramount's backyard, with the incredible support of our Latinx and Hispanic ERG, Somos. One thing the entertainment industry must do better is widen its talent pool, and this event was an opportunity to move the needle in that area. The summit was packed with impactful sessions: 🎤 Culturally relevant panels featuring Paramount professionals. ✏️ Interactive resume and cover letter workshops. 🤝 Networking opportunities where students connected directly with Paramount employees and early career recruiters. It was a joy watching the moment students relaxed during conversations with employees and realized, “We’re just people!” Here’s what I’m most proud of: 🎓 We welcomed over 500 students. 💼 100+ employees volunteered their time to make this summit a success. 🗣️ Interviewed dozens of students from the event for internships and full-time roles. 📺 Featured on KCAL News to share the success of the event and spread the word about its impact. It’s experiences like this that remind me why I’m so passionate about building meaningful connections and creating opportunities for others. There isn't a law prohibiting justice-impacted individuals from starting their own business when re-entering the community. Sometimes, it's the most viable option because of the challenges faced in regular employment. Tomorrow, I will be facilitating "Pathway to Entrepreneurship" workshops to justice-impacted individuals for the Bronx DA's office. As the Director of the Entrepreneurship program at Manhattan University and The Bronx Economic Development Corporation board member it is important to share entrepreneurial knowledge beyond the four walls of the institution to empower the Bronx and beyond.
