A couple of nights ago I attended the Community Showcase & Networking Event held by Impact73 ⚪ in a room filled with curiosity, compassion, and inclusivity—all in the name of making a positive global impact. Something really struck me when the founder Tim Edwards FRSA said, “you don’t know what you don’t know.” That’s exactly the challenge I’m facing right now, and it resonated deeply with my journey of trying to figure out my next steps. This community’s focus on interdisciplinary impact feels like the perfect space to explore those unknowns. The event’s lightning talks were a whirlwind of insights, from sustainability to reproductive healthcare insurance, all from speakers committed to making real change. And the networking was fantastic—new connections, fresh ideas, and potential collaborations everywhere you turned! Impact 73 also previewed their upcoming projects, including the launch of their new website 🎉. With a call for more participation, it’s clear the community is growing fast. I’m already looking forward to their next gathering on November 7th! If you’re seeking a space where curiosity is celebrated, where you can explore what you don’t yet know, and where impact is the bottom line—join Impact 73. Sign up for the mailing list and get involved in shaping the future! 📅 See you on November 7th! #Impact73 #PositiveImpact #Networking #Curiosity #Sustainability #FutureOfWork

Back in time, axactly on 12 August 2024 which was the International Youth Day, with the theme, 'From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development' Just for a moment, reflect upon your digital lifestyle, including all the technologies that surround you. Using such tech tools, how are you contributing towards the Common Good? As young people of faith, the ecological crisis is a summon to profound interior conversion. With so much information and digital tools at our disposal, are we doing our best to promote Integral Ecology? With love of neighbor; in our daily tech/digital use, applications and advancement, let us always remember to respect and uphold the dignity of every human person. Are you not trying so hard to fit in or prove yourself? In the process we loose our identity and values and/ our actions are degrading others, causing societal breakdowns and sadly, we have witnessed so much loss of life, even in our circles - we have them who are still suffering from digital injustices. With Digital Inclusion; right Information and tools, we can do so much for us and those to come. Let every click counts, imagine the progress we can if every young person clicks for 2030 Agenda, the Common Good; from anywhere around the world...!! As a young Catholic inspired by Blessed Carlo Acutis, in his teen capacity - he achieved so much for his family, the Church and community as a whole; imagine us, with our diverse skills and digital pathways......... #InternationalYouthDay #InternationalYouthDay2024 #DigitalInclusion #CatholicFaith #HumanDignity #Agenda2030 #IntegralEcology #sustainabledevelopment #GodsLoveNeverFails #stayoriginal #youngneighbours #BeyondBorders #TogetherWeCan

🎓 Final Reflections , a week on, from NYCW This year's theme was 'It's Time', and my main takeaway? It's time to break out of the climate bubble - which we can do right where we are. Last night, chatting with 4 gents at the pub while setting up our People, Planet, Pint meetup reinforced this. They were bemused, slightly sceptical, but open to chat and I learned a lot about their perspective. For those tempted by NYCW, here's some of the things you need to know: 1️⃣ Have a plan of who you want to meet and what your goals are before you go. - Book early as the hotels are so expensive due to the UN General Assembly. - Don't be shy to host your own event but partner if you do like Impact Hustlers did with 1014 - space for ideas. There are 3 types of events: public, registration events, and super exclusive events. Events got emptier the later the week. 2️⃣ Embrace JOMO. I missed so many things like seeing Notpla Earthshot Prize winners in Time Square. - Block out time for meetings and coffees with new and old connections (Linda Li and I still didn't manage to get our 2nd coffee in) - The best advice about where to go came from my network - Partner up because NYCW can be pretty intimidating, and as Claire Goodman and I agreed 'a bit much' 3️⃣ Small panels are best because you interact with the speakers, organisers and fellow attendees - Consider other formats like roundtables (as Quentin Franque experienced) or the Debatable Series by Kite Insights. - As Clover Hogan highlighted this week - there are not enough young people in these rooms so consider that for your plans 4️⃣ While I embrace serendipity, it feels hard work to walk into a room with 100+ people as you try to figure out who the 3 people are that you need to speak to. 🕵️♀️🤔 (Simple hack for fellow event organisers ➡️ Display a list of attendees or share a list of companies attending beforehand) 📋💡 It's hard to ignore the backdrop of NYCW - the huge disparity between rich and poor (so many homeless people) 💔, the astronomical amount of single-use waste 🗑️ and the scale of resource consumption 🏙️. We're not dealing with such visible problems, let alone with something as invisible as emissions and nature loss. 🌍🌱 As for me, last week showed me that far more stakeholder engagement on sustainability is needed and that's the reason I started DisCom - to create moments to convene stakeholders so we break the bubble or make it much bigger. 🫧 Julie Davitz Paula Glover Tod Gimbel Isabelle Grosmaitre Leena Al Olaimy Damian Foxall Gareth Thomas PhD MRSB Sophie Flak Genevieve Patenaude, PhD (Oxon) Jo short, Cristina Calvo, Kate Keepax Carlos Hirsch Tami Kesselman Julia Pallé Sophie Lambin 🪁 Will Midwinter Camille Vanderghote Roxane Durand Harald Neidhardt Luciana Bacchi Prestes Sean Anayah Brian Tolliver Maiko Schaffrath

🌟 What a Year 2024 Has Been! 🌟 As the leader of YEPP EUROPE and Songs for Rights, I feel immense gratitude and pride reflecting on all we achieved this year. Together, we developed and implemented nine impactful projects in areas that truly matter: 🌱 Mental health and well-being 💪 Healthy lifestyles 🌍 Climate action 🚀 Entrepreneurship 📰 Media literacy 🥗 Sustainable food systems 🇪🇺 EU values ✊ Human rights education Through these projects, we reached and empowered youth and children from disadvantaged backgrounds, leaving a lasting impact on individuals and communities. It wasn’t always easy. 2024 brought its share of challenges—we faced ups and downs, laughter and tears. But what stands out most is that we got things done. And more importantly, we witnessed the tangible difference our work makes in people’s lives. None of this would have been possible without the incredible dedication, passion, and hard work of our team. To each and every one of you —thank you so much! You are the reason these achievements were possible. 🙌 The world around us seems increasingly complicated. With wars on our doorsteps, growing inequalities, and polarizing divisions, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But I firmly believe that the harder the times, the more essential our work becomes. We are planting seeds of change, hope, and empowerment—and that matters now more than ever. Looking ahead to 2025, I hope for unity, healing, freedom, and peace. Let’s continue this journey with hope in our hearts and determination in our actions. Together, we can make a difference. 💙 #YouthEmpowerment #HumanRights #CommunityImpact #MentalHealth #ClimateAction #SongsForRights #YEPP25

Looking forward to seeing you online! Details and registration: https://lnkd.in/dm7JYbF3
What’s on at IMMA Collective this week: talks about regeneration. In preparation for our upcoming event, Impactful Connections: Regeneration Edition, we asked our Nurture members Emily Lin, Nenad Maljković, and Joshua Stehr one question: “How do you bring regenerative practices into your work as a consultant?” It was an enlightening conversation, and we have decided to bring their insights to the larger community in our next virtual networking event. Next Wednesday, we will host a short panel about how these 3 practitioners use regeneration in their work, followed by an opportunity for attendees to connect and explore together how to integrate regenerative practices into their work. Attendees will be able to deep-dive into any of the following breakout rooms: 🌱 Weaving regenerative practices into existing systems, collaborations, and organizations 🌱 Making remote, online collaboration and communication regenerative, connecting it with a place 🌱 Discussing what it means to shift towards a regenerative design practice, including opportunities and challenges We hope that you can join us at this special, one-time event.
