Kids and caregivers at the Pudney Hub enjoy their new shade cover, which was made possible in part thanks to a donation we gave through our impact model. Clare Pudney, who runs the centre, shared some lovely words about it: "This addition to our playground has made the world of difference for our children - in the hotter months our turf previously got too hot for little bare feet to stand on. Some of our children have a real sensory aversion to wearing shoes, so on those hot days they couldn't play outside. We also used to have to put our slide under the shade of the tree, but now it can be put elsewhere leaving a lovely area for rugs and books and toys. The flexibility these umbrellas give us are awesome - we can choose which play equipment to shade at different times of the day - can't do without them!" So happy to hear about how the wonderful Pudney Hub community are thriving in the shade, ready to stay out of the Hawke's Bay heat this summer!

As Giving Tuesday approaches (collective deep breath for all my fellow fundraisers!), I want to give an early shout-out to PEPS. When I joined the team, many of you shared how your PEPS Group shaped your early parenthood journey. In my first month here, I've learned that program fees cover just 25% of the cost to run these groups. In the aftermath of the election, one piece of advice has been echoed: center yourself in community. Community can be hard to find, but PEPS makes it possible for over 4000 parents a year. If PEPS impacted you or you want to support parents, please consider giving: https://lnkd.in/gZa6fpgD

I’m excited to propose a community cooking initiative utilizing the abandoned restaurant under the Catholic Church. This program aims to teach cooking skills, provide nutritious meals, and foster community engagement, addressing food insecurity and breaking the cycle of poverty. Key components include: - Cooking classes for individuals and families - A 24/7 soup kitchen offering meals to those in need - Opportunities for creative expression through cooking and art By partnering with the Church, local food charities, and culinary schools, we can create a welcoming space for all. Together, we can empower individuals and uplift our community. Let’s turn this vision into reality!

For nearly a century, the Goodwill mission has been strengthening individuals, families, and communities by providing training, employment, and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages. Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is helping their community members develop job skills and fulfill personal and professional goals. I feel like a farmer planting a seed. Only pray to God it’s GMI free . I wanna make some noise. I want to take some action. I want to hear some voices and I want some collaboration. We have a food catastrophe just Next Door. start thinking about Food security and how little one event can collapse a whole system and hasn’t been nurtured or respected. Food is few people you don’t eat you die oh eat what you want that you’ve been encouraged and promoted to do you die too all I’m doing is looking at how to live longer, how to cut the medicine be out of pain and weight gain. Food is recipe out of most of our Health decline.. get involved post some ideas. Tell me what I’ve got wrong. Let me get it Clear. I want to start something as basic as a train track. It purpose means to get Food from here and back. Use it so it’s not spoiled and crap, whether it’s storing it and transferring like an airline catering Kitchen, for rotating roster of participantsthat are doing community service for the Centrelink participation agreement plan. I don’t have to sing for supper but you can contribute to making, the meal may not be your meal, but you can contribute you gonna be grateful and we have to set this up butts up now before Civil War.!

Many companies demonstrate ethical practices by respecting their audiences and staying true to their purpose. Nearly two years ago, I researched businesses that have successfully acted ethically, and one that stood out was Build-A-Bear Workshop. Beyond creating stuffed animals, Build-A-Bear is dedicated to bringing joy and making a difference. They’ve donated over $22 million to organizations supporting children’s well-being and health. One remarkable initiative is their partnership with Shriners Children’s, where they donated 5,000 stuffed bears and established play areas to bring comfort to young patients. This commitment to community impact aligns with their mission: to empower and uplift children worldwide. By prioritizing emotional connection and social responsibility, Build-A-Bear Workshop sets an example of how businesses can thrive while making a meaningful difference.

🎄Doing things a little differently back home… Every year, in our little semi-rural community, the voluntary fire station organises something a bit special for Christmas tree disposal. Families bring their trees down to the station, where they’re fed into a wood chipper by a local landscaper dressed as the Grinch, I mean why not, right. All donations go to support the local fire station, and it’s become a bit of a tradition. What I love about this isn’t just the quirky fun of it, but how it reflects something bigger, how small, simple efforts can have a meaningful impact. It’s a reminder that when a community comes together around a shared goal, even something ordinary like tree disposal can become an event, a fundraiser, and a memory. It makes me think about the work I do with data. Sometimes, we focus so much on the big, complex solutions, when often it’s the simple, consistent things, those smaller initiatives that grow over time, that make the real difference. Whether it’s transforming trees into mulch or transforming data into insight, the key is finding ways to bring people together around something valuable.

We Teach More Than Just Martial Arts; we instill the values of kindness and community. ❤️ Giving back is essential in shaping our future leaders. During this season of giving and gratitude, let's empower our children to make a positive impact both on and off the mat! 🙌 Here are some fun ways to get your children involved in the act of giving back to the community this month: 🤲 Volunteer Time: Participate in community service projects together, such as helping at shelters or organizing clean-up days at parks. 💌 Thanksgiving Cards: Create handmade cards to send to veterans, seniors, or community helpers expressing gratitude. 🧸 Toys for Tots: Gather gently used toys or new toys to donate to other children in need during the holiday season. 😊 Acts of Kindness: Encourage your children to perform random acts of kindness, like helping a friend or writing positive notes for classmates. #BuildingCharacter #GivingBack

Make 2024 the year your business creates lasting change. By choosing Toybox as your charity partner, you’ll be joining us in our mission to ensure every child has the love, safety, and opportunities they deserve. Your support makes a difference. It allows us to work toward a world where no child is forced to live on the streets and where every child is free from exploitation. We focus on three key areas that have a profound impact on street children: 1. Birth registration - We've helped over 12,000 street children to receive their birth certificates. 2. Education - Supporting street children with enrolling in school, vocational training, learning social skills and more. 3. Street outreach - Over the last 12 years Toybox has supported over 193,475 children, parents and caregivers. With your help, we can continue our work and increase our impact on these street children and young people. Find out more about our work and how you can get involved here: https://lnkd.in/eVUrMBF8
