A few weeks ago, we had the incredible honour of launching Maddie’s Month at Coles HQ, surrounded by an inspiring group of people. From heartfelt stories shared by patients and families to words of support from the Flavorite, Maddie Riewoldt's Vision and Coles Group teams, it was a day to remember.
A special thank you to MasterChef judge, Andy Allen, for delighting us with dishes crafted from Maddie’s Month produce- showcasing the very best of flavour and purpose. Together, we’re making an impact, one bite at a time.

Nourish body AND soul
Meanne describes a food culture reflecting that of Blue Zones, where people enjoy LONGEVITY 💚🩵💙
Nourishing both body and soul, through the combination of nutritious food and positive social connection is a powerful tool for wellbeing and HEALTHSPAN.
Improving food cultures in our homes and communities has huge potential. Sourcing local nutritious foods (fruit and vegetables especially), cooking from scratch (together), eating together.
A shift in food culture supports the vital shift we need in HEALTH culture (from disease to prevention). Let’s go back to basics - eat densely nutritious, unprocessed foods cooked from scratch, mindfully and together (not mindlessly and passively) and in doing so create positive change for the future! 🤝

IHOP.... International House of Pancakes.... YUM! 🤩
An American classic that never disappoints! Known for its cozy vibes, good food and prices that won’t break the bank, IHOP is the real deal. I fell in love the moment I walked in.
I found myself at IHOP so many times on my recent US trip – whether it was for a hearty breakfast or just to enjoy their endless coffee refills. ☕️ But it wasn’t just the food that drew me in… it was the experience. 🙌
IHOP is the perfect example of the Caregiver Brand archetype: a brand all about making customers feel cared for, safe, and valued. 💛 From the moment I walked in, I was treated like family. The staff made sure to remember my name, ask about my day, and offer that extra bit of care – even during their busy family peak times.
Plus, the warmth of their vibe is everywhere: from the cozy, autumn-themed posters to the smiles on every server’s face. 🧡
IHOP… It’s a big high five from me! 👋 When are you coming to Australia?

I might be mad to join this debate, but for what it's worth, here's my view:
Yes it's true, yes it's clever... but is it right?
It's definitely based on a blindingly truthful insight. Two in fact (1. you're starving immediately post-labour and 2. only one thing will hit the spot). And I've pushed the proverbial watermelon out of a lemon myself (twice), but even if I hadn't, I would 100% concur that women should not be shamed about what they choose to eat at that moment. You are a total effing heroine, you can eat whatever the heck you want to eat, and everyone else can eff off with their opinions about that, thank you very much
Precisely because it's such blindingly truthful insight, the dynamic duo of Burger King and BBH were smart as hell to jump on it and use it. Very smart. But right? Of this, I am less sure
Don't get me wrong, on a professional level, I admire this move. What I'm less convinced of is the ethics. For me, it teeters on the fine and dangerous line between marketing and exploitation. In this case, exploitation of the beauty of human-ness in one its rawest and most vulnerable forms.
Being 'seen' as a birth-giving woman in this way is compelling. No doubt about that. But on a very personal level, I'm just not sure I want this to be used to sell something. To sell anything, in fact - burger OR apple

Sorry for the rant but all the negative comments about the BBH LondonBURGER KING UK ‘special deliveries’ campaign is really getting my goat. I can only conclude that anyone that looks at these posters and sees ‘cancer’ and ‘obesity’ and ‘exploitation’ hasn’t spent hours or even days pushing something the size of watermelon out of something the size of a lemon. Or had a surgeon slice them open and do what literally feels like the washing up inside you. The truth hurts - admittedly not as much as giving birth - but that’s what these poster are. Truthful observations. And also a bold statement to the naysayers that a woman can eat what she wants, when she bloody wants. Even postpartum! A slice of toast ain’t gonna cut it alright. I for one didn’t have a burger. I had a bucket of chicken. Tits out, nipples cracked and bleeding (be thankful BK didn’t actually show that part!) while devouring chicken off the bone in a primal binge. And thank goodness I did because when the postnatal depression kicked in I didn’t eat for about 4 months!!! So, well done Helen Rhodes and team for being insightful and making a woman feel seen. You burned some bras when you made those flame grilled whoopers! Bravo.

Exciting news (for me), I think I've had my first viral(-ish) post on LinkedIn - who knows what the threshold for virality is, but I think 20,000 plus impressions is a fair effort.
Lessons learned from this...
There's plenty of interest at the weekend - this was posted on Saturday.
Popular posts have a long trajectory - this has been building for the last 5 days and although it has been tailing off in the last couple of days, has still added a few thousand impressions during that time. The biggest arc was in the first 3 days.
Has it changed my life - not at all.
It probably isn't big enough to make much difference in terms of my business.
I have had more connection requests than usual in the last few days and more people looking at my profile, which could be positive in the medium term, but nothing concrete. Also, the post isn't about my core services, so is more awareness than action-orientated anyway.
I'd love my more useful and insightful posts to "go viral", but of course it is just making jokes about burgers and babies that people really like*
*on a more serious note, this is popular because it is a remix of a popular topic that was all over LinkedIn already and it tapped into people's annoyance with all the hot takes on the Burger King campaign, while of course ironically capitalising on the same hot takes, but with a humourous spin.
Lesson - be topical, but try to be different.

My thoughts on the Burger King first meal ad...
As a mum of 4, my instant reaction was to relate to this ad. So it did its job.
Anyone who has birthed a baby knows it's like competing in an ultramarathon, while experiencing excruciating pain...
You're ravenous when it's over. And that first bite is simply delicious. Whatever it is.
The ad immediately evoked memories about my first meal -
I remember getting about 6 slices of toast, smeared in butter and a cup of tea. It was blissful.
I can't say I craved a burger but I think if it had been offered I would have snaffled it. I'd have taken anything at that point though...
In my opinion -
The strategic insight is spot on✅
It's disruptive ✅
It's emotionally engaging ✅
It's ONE burger after some serious graft...and why not?
