The International Energy Agency (IEA)’s EV Life Cycle Assessment Calculator is a very interesting tool to see just how quickly the higher emissions typically associated with the production of an electric vehicle are offset by the greatly reduced emissions of running the vehicle efficiently on electricity rather than with a very wasteful ICE engine (that often wastes 80% of the energy you put into it). With a small car, even the smallest of daily commutes can quickly add up to huge carbon savings over the lifetime of the vehicle.
